If you watched UConn win the National Championship with 6’9 Sanogo who was a stretch 5 and Karaban who also was a threat from deep you wouldn’t be giving an uninformed opinion like this.

You clearly didn’t watch UConn win a national championship if you think Sanogo is a stretch 5

So he didn’t stretch the defense because he could knock down the 3? Interesting. You watch him any this year or just the tournament? He was very reliable from there and really didn’t have to shoot them much in the tournament other than the Miami game.

But our personnel couldn't be worse for that style of play. With what we've got we have to slow things down and execute sets or we'll never score
Isn't that what we tried to do all this season? How did that work out? Can trying to press some be worse than what we did? And no matter what style we play, we need better guards.

JFC yes. If you don't have the personnel for a press then trying to press all game is a disaster.

The rumor in Baton Rouge is that Stewart is coming. Same people who first said Wright and then Cook were coming are now saying Stewart is. It's entirely possible they're wrong, but they've been right so far

Would the board melt with two 6’0 guards starting?

I’m not sure if Stewart would start. I can see Abram and Cook starting with Stewart coming off the bench.

Andre Stringer and Anthony Hickey TYFYS

never forget opening the 2013-14 season at UMASS at 10 am when espn did that 24 hour marathon thing (which was weirdly awesome)

Jarrell Martin twisted his ankle 30 seconds into the game

They showed a video of the umass locker room pre game where the coach basically said “they’re gonna use a lineup with 2 midget guards so just go at them all game”

Not if they could play like Waters.

I wouldn't like it at all.

But if we got Abram, and we're rotating five guards in Cook, Abram, Stewart, Hannibal and Hayes and we're pressing a lot, having Cook and Stewart on the floor at the same time isn't the end of the world.

But you'd damn well better have some bigs who can dominate the glass and protect the rim if you're going to go small on the perimeter like that. I don't know that we'll have anything close to that.

Sounds like Mack didn't commit on his visit, unless someone has some insider info. Also, this makes it sound like it will be Bama, Arkansas or Iowa if they offer.

Mack did spell out that he wants an opportunity at any new school to make the NCAA tournament. Does that requirement eliminate LSU, comming off of a poor season and facing possible NCAA sanctions?

I can live without him. He's a pretty good offensive player but at that size and in that league he should have averaged 10 rebounds a game and he only got 10 rebounds in a game one time all season.

Yep. According to some, he’s not good enough to elevate us anyway so whatever

It's impressive to make Jonathan Pierre's top 5 is impressive, because he has supposedly heard from 120 schools, including Duke. With that said, ON3 is predicting he's choosing Memphis.

I would be impressed if McMahon got Pierre. He's a DII guy, which doesn't blow anybody away, but some of the film is pretty intriguing.

Lots of perimeter game

Lots of easy athleticism and a quick release on his shot

Seems like a winner

This guy doesn't fix your post problem. He might fix your wing scorer and playmaker problem.

Definitely need a post fix. At this rate, Jordan Wright might lead the team in rebounds next year.

Corey Chest is really athletic and can sky. He has the look of a dunking machine and Windex man. He's got a little Tyrus Thomas in him.

But Corey Chest has almost no game whatsoever away from the rim. I think he's a backup and rotational player as a freshman.

We need a minimum of two bigs who can defend and rebound, and one of them had better be able to give us a good 12 points a game.
