Mr. Brown should come back. He would make more money @ LSU if he returned and after a good year 2027' would be a 1st round pick.

Only thing Brown has to do now is prove he can hit lefties. Hes basically a platoon guy as a pro or 4th OF type if he cant. Its one of the hardest thing for left handed batters to do at the highest levels, but he is athletic as hell and has big arm, speed and power. Not sure he gains anything by coming back to LSU.

He should be in summer ball right now getting more innings and looking to drop down to a mid tier conference and find a school with a good pitching coach and see if it can finally click.

There is still something there and he's going to keep getting chances, but he needs to find an opportunity that will maximize his time on the mound. He can't stay in the SEC. He probably needs to go to a one-bid league.

ETA: Arkansas Little Rock probably wouldn't be a terrible spot for him.

If you have command issues and a team still wants to give you a boatload of money, you should probably sign.

If you have command issues and aren't getting a boat load of money, you should probably go to JUCO and summer league and get as many innings under your belt as possible to try to fix those issues.

There just isn't enough time in D1 baseball to develop guys that are way off. Especially now that every shithook team we bring in for pre-conference or midweek insists on using the mercy rule and taking away innings and at bats for the developmental guys that need them.

ETA: I don't know what kind of offers he turned down in the early part of the draft, but I don't think the Cardinals were going to offer him more than the 100-125k max (depending on what it was that year) for that 20th round pick.

meh, once SEC play started, all of his career struggles came back quickly. He had a couple games where he put it together, but his struggles didn't start after a minor injury against Floirda

3/13 A&M: 2.1 IP, 1 H, 7 BB, 5 R
3/19 LSU: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 6 BB, 1 HBP, 5 R
4/10 Vandy: 0.1 IP, 0 H, 4 BB, 4 R

That Florida injury didn't happen until May. On the season, he couldn't make it past the 3rd inning in 7 of his starts.

The guy has always had elite "stuff" which is why he's hard to hit. But he has still not learned how to consistently throw strikes. It's been his problem his entire career.
