This was GA Tech's year
I really thought they would glide through that regional. They pitched off and still lost. On paper they were so much better than Oklahoma

They didnt get tested enough throughout the year. Oklahoma had been through the wars. If its tight late, and the team hasnt been in tough spots, eventually it comes back to bite

In the cluster of corner outfielders we're looking at we have:
LHH: Bino Watters (ND), Jason Wachs (Tulane), Eli Stephens (Mercer)
RHH: Jake Souders (Samford), Jackson Hotchkiss (Washington)
Watters is probably the best hitter and also has the most competition for his services.
Hotchkiss has also played CF and is in very high demand.
Stephens is listed as a Catcher but played mostly OF for Mercer. He can play RF, 1B, or C, which adds a lot of value.
Wachs has a connection to a current staff member.
Souders seems like a little more of a long shot right now, but we're looking at him. He's in very high demand and will almost assuredly be in the SEC next season.
There may be others to add to this list as we go along, but I think getting any one of these guys would be a good outcome and make me not worried about missing out on the rest of them.

Another connection I just found:
While we recruited Linkin Garcia out of high school, he ultimately chose Texas Tech. But he played his Junior year at Huntington Beach HS with CJ Weinstein.
Also on that team was Tennessee Catcher Trent Grindlinger and UCSB pitcher Nathan Aceves (who we also evaluated out of high school).

They lost in the semi finals to Corona and their 4 first rounders and Ethan Bingamin from Auburn.

Anybody know how this visit went? I didn’t see Jay tweet a tiger emoji.

My bad, didn't see a post on his commitment to UT, thought it was new.

From what I heard it was a quick unofficial visit and he is supposed to have an official visit lined up soon.

And take it for what it’s worth but Mascona said they would be no hometown discount and he’s visiting Arkansas, miss state and Tennessee as well

There is an aspect of this that isn't money related that raises concerns.

Half these kids know where they’re likely going as soon as they enter the portal.
