All these people thinking the MLB draft slot values work like the NFL where the only negotiation is guaranteed money. In the MLB it’s all guaranteed, and every pick is negotiable.

All these picks from here forward can get $150K to start and then have money added from money not spent from the total money not spent in the first 10 rounds total pool. You can bet an 11th round pick is signing. There is a reason there is a pause in the draft here.

There’s an echo chamber of lsu “insiders” that people subscribe too that lead them on with incomplete and poor information.
I eat a barrage of constant downvoting, but I dgaf; This thread is the premier spot for LSU baseball information, point blank.

I get the over slot pay. But really how many kids r getting millions at this point historically. The percentage is really low.
We should get a few kids we didn't think at this point.

You can’t always look at history when the format of the draft keeps changing.

2025 - 1 player drafted in rounds 11-20 got seven figures contract
2024 - 1
2023 - 0
But several mid six figure contracts and many high six figure contracts.

Got to look at also, that at the end of the day, some kids really do not want to go to school. But them and their advisors know the value of LSU and SEC power schools as leverage, especially in the NIL era. They are not going to value the college experience like us fans would, especially with life experience where we know say $500K pre tax is not changing your life so much that you can never get that experience back over being a much different life in the minors.

Exactly. Sanarelli could get drafted and offered 800k which may be enough to keep him out of BR. Each kid has a different situation and a different number.
One thing that has me hopeful is with only 2 signees drafted in the first 10 rounds, jay was able to beef up our NIL and sales pitch to these kids to where we are successfully competing with MLB teams. The kids guaranteed to sign have been taken. The MLB teams see the rest of our class as threats to make it to campus so if they want any of them, they’ll have to shell out some big bucks and even then they may not be fully confident that they’ll sign.
Edit: 3 kids taken. Forgot about blomker.

There has been a very low number of HS players selected this year. Teams will have more money than usual to spend in 11-20.
The number of HS players is always really low in the late parts of the top 10 rounds. This year is no different than drafts of recent past.
2026 - 12 HS drafted in rounds 7-10
2025 - 8
2024 - 9

I am talking about this, specifically. Early HS picks historically take up the most money within a team's draft pool. If there were a low number selected, that will mean more money for this 2nd half of the draft.

There were just 42 high school players selected in the first 135 picks this year, the fourth fewest ever. The bottom eight years for high schoolers in the top 135 have all occurred since 2018.

Not a lot. But if you look at last year, the average bonus for a high school signee in rounds 11-20 was approx $380k.
And that average is pulled down by a few that only took the $150k. These players are generally getting north of $400k, with several being paid like very early draft picks.

Yea unfortunately I think we are about to lose some recruits the next couple of rounds.

On the MLB draft tracker you can filter picks by state

As predicted earlier in this thread multiple times, the run on high schoolers has taken off.
