That’s crazy. Being at Texas may cushion the blow, but Schloss hasn’t had a whole lot of success when he hasn’t had rosters built by either Tony Vitello or Nolan Cain.

I wonder if this will set up a domino effect of coaching moves, or if he’ll promote from within. Is Tulowitzki a good recruiter?

Cain may be putting together a nice resume to be considered by lsu one day for top job

What even is his job responsibilities at these stops? He was a pitcher here but all I ever see mentioned about him is recruiter.

Probably pissed off Tulo and Weiner got all the praise during the CWS. Aggies thinking Earley isn’t the future?

I don't see Nolan Cain as a potential head coach but what do I know. He recruits well but that landscape/environment is even changing, so we'll see. He's also bounced around from LSU to A&M to UT and back to A&M all within a 5-6 year period - his loyalty is simply non-existent.

Guess he had enough of working for Schloss the dickhead. Or maybe he just wanted to avoid coming back to the Box next year.

I just read that the Rockies signed Parker Coddou out of independent ball. He’s the shortstop from Nicholls that had the best defensive game in history against LSU a few years ago.

Listening to Armstrong’s podcast and he seems to be really downplaying the Kurland add. Am I tripping or does he have potential to be the best position player we’ve brought in? Hes who I’m most excited about if he can stay healthy.

Hard to be "too" excited about Kurland given his decline every year of his career but he definitely has the highest floor given his insane number of at bats in the SEC with a career .888 OPS and good infield defender. Even if you don't get freshman Kurland, you're basically getting 2025 Danny Dickinson. Nothing wrong with that obviously.

Bino Watters is clearly #1. Essentially an all-american hitter in the ACC. I'd have Kurland #3 with Landon Hood #2 given the stuff, the need for pitching, and the 2 years of eligibility. Kurland is a more sure thing to contribute to this team though.

With Kurland it is all about keeping him healthy. His only year healthy was his freshman year. I think every year after that he has had some type of injury he either played through or the one year he only played in 14 games.

Armstrong brought it up but it's similar to Dardar in the sense of it seems he is someone who just always has some kind of nagging injury to keep him from reaching his potential consistently.

Agreed, I could understand where being injured 3/4 years would and should make someone skeptical. Still, 17 hr in the sec as a freshman is not a fluke and he still put up decent numbers despite being injured. We are always talking about wanting portal players to translate and it’s hard to be more confident than having a guy come from UF and who has been in the sec for a long time. He just seems like a super high floor guy if healthy and it’s nice to have a guy like that.

I watched that game, that kid played out of his mind as if his life depended on him making plays. I was cursing the frick out of him at the time. There's no way to explain the plays he made without watching the highlights. I wish him well and will be rooting for him to do well, but that night it was like Are you shitting me? WTF, how did he get to that ball?

Pretty optimistic analysis on who we will get to campus. After all, he knows his audience. I still expect to lose 6-8 from the class.

ETA: He also mentioned that our activity in the portal indicates that Santi is leaving. I think the opposite. We have not been very active on LHP, aside from Worley potentially, which indicates to me that Santi could come back. I think Sheerin is gone, Velasquez is the replacement, but we have also not been very active on that type of arm yet either. Maybe pitching is the side of things that Jay referenced from a development standpoint, since he's sure been active on position players.
