He also heard Jay’s name connected to the LSU job long before any media got word of it.

quote:solid list. I'll add Reid Brignac as well. Would've been nice to have Bregs and Gallo on the left side of the infield from 2013-2015.

Still no announcement from the most recent Tiger emoji. Signs seem to point to Malachi Washington, a 2026 from Georgia. LucaNwaawrocki, a 2026 from Texas is also a possibility.

if yall are interested
here is a great podcast with new S&C coach Chris Martin....I think the world of Chris and think he is a huge upgrade and is going to pay dividends. If you look at his twitter, you can already see a lot of changes he has made including adding tons of weight to certain players. LINK

Is there zero talent from Louisiana for 2025 and 2026?
Jay has 3 commitments from LA in 25 and only 1 for 26. That’s 4 out of 35 total HS recruits, or approximately 11%.
I get that it’s good to be a national powerhouse, but I will always say that you need LA kids on these teams.
I am not criticizing him. I think he’s awesome as a recruiter and coach, but the lack of Louisiana players committed is unusual.
Off the top of my head LA major contributors to the 23 Championship:
Beloso, Morgan, Dugas, Jobert, Milazzo, Travinski, Pearson, Guidry and Garret Edwards.
Let’s go get the best players nationally, but not forget about the hometown guys while we’re at it.

I think it’s very likely there will be no LA kids in ‘26
Did not offer any position players and have shown interest in only 3 pitchers
CJJ has been upfront with them
It’s not personal. He knows what expectations are and is doing his part to accomplish our goals

Those were spread across 4-5 recruiting classes. I don’t disagree with having La guys but there will be ebbs and flows in the number of sec level talent in this state. Some years 3-4 guys, some years 1-2.

I think Jay is one of the top coaches and recruiters in the nation. His work ethic is second to none, but there has got to be room for more than 4 Louisiana players on your roster over 2 recruiting cycles.
Either way I’m excited for the season and hope both of the these classes are major successes.
It would be interesting to see how many recruiting classes in the last 30 years has had only one LA player in it.

There will be more room if more are deserving.
The days of filling your roster with kids like Will Safford and collier Cranford are no more.

Which players should he be recruiting that he is not,
He likely will not recruit players like milazzo, hillard, and Beloso etc again. LSU is on a different level now & can draw better players.

tell me who he should be recruiting?
he has 3 committed in 2025. only other one we would have even wanted was courville and we didnt want him as a catcher from what i understood.
got 1 in 26. Prolly would have taken hayes holton but he was kind of late riser and we have enough RHP. Alexander and montgomery are only ones in 26 that are going to SEC schools. They liked other OF better than Montgomery and JD Alexander is getting the A&M offer just off potential. He doesnt even do anything for Barbe but DH and pitch and he has been hurt so no pitching.
he will prolly take 3-4 in 27
i dont think you understand what is going on in big time D1 recruiting
and its about to get even harder with the juco injuction that went through yesterday. About to be all the SEC is pretty much only JUCO kids with each big school having their own feeder schools.
