JJ Cooper from baseball America confirmed that Serna went through the formal process to withdraw from the draft and he won’t be eligible to be picked.
There were two others that have done it so far, lower guys on the top 500, one committed to State. Don’t remember their names though.

Going to be different this year. Probably will only bring on another 3-4 players. With the portal closing for entries Tuesday, I kind of expected a defection or 2. No news on that end is good news.

Maybe, but I don't think the kid would have pulled his name from the draft. He could have easily de-committed and went to another school. Maybe it's like Curiel from last year.

I keep having to remind myself that these are shiny new toys, and we have, AT LEAST, 2 first round level talents in the outfield (Curiel, Brown), 3 VERY taleneted infielders (Simpson, Milam, Dardar), a couple bats that have shown promise (Pearson, Larson), an absolute shite ton of arms, and an insane class coming in.

The portal doesn’t seem to offer any established stars this year so that alone makes it less exciting.
