Can say I am firmly in that camp as well. Good time to be a tiger fan. Future is bright across the board

LHP throwing 96 you'll never see this kid on campus, unfortunately.

Is there a minimum salary teams have to pay players that are drafted? I understand the seniors have no leverage, but teams should have to pay more than peanuts to sign them.

I don't think there is a minimum, but now that its 20 rounds instead of 40-50, it won't be as bad. I think most kids are still getting 6 figs

He signed over the weekend, but I don't remember if it was Saturday or Sunday.

Baltimore still needs to sign Nolan McLean and if they do, they may not have the money to sign anyone else. And if they don't, they will not have the money to sign anyone else.

How much money do they have left?
Posted on 8/1/22 at 1:33 pm to TigerMonkey7
SpoTrac has them at about $1.2MM, with the 5% overage that puts them around $2MM. But if they don't sign McLean, they can't use his slot money (about $700K) or the 5% overage attributable to it to sign anyone else. And he's almost assuredly going over slot.
The Miami reliever they drafted in the 18th round has already said he's going back to school because they couldn't meet his number.
ETA: edited for spelling errors.

quote:1.2 mil right now but their unsigned 3rd round pick’s slot value is 794k. Hopefully he can take up most of that 1.2 mil.
