Just ate at Sullivan's with wife and friends.
I was wondering the same thing about potential basketball recruit(s). Looked like one or two recruits with family and a couple of the basketball assistant coaches going into one of the banquet rooms.
It was hard to judge height, but did not appear to be 6'10 or taller.

Yeah, he was on the back of a golf cart when I saw them. He was clearly taller than most, but hard to tell how much taller.

New article on Dante.
Not much appears to have changed just yet, but this Kentucky writer thinks they’ve jumped out to the lead for him. I guess we’ll know soon...

New name: Galen “Tolu” Smith III (6-10, 245 from Western Kentucky. From Mobile and Hawaii. Brother plays for Tulane.
Tolu Smith
Would have to sit out and then have 3 years. Apparently sprouted up 6-8 inches the last few years, so still developing.

That seems like a fit for what Wade has mentioned before, someone that could come in and redshirt.
I personally think that about 90% of college big men could use a RS year, so I like bringing in the transfers like this and letting them develop in the system.

Saw on Instagram that 2019 JUCO C deshawn Thomas committed
Posted on 8/5/19 at 6:00 pm to AlecRock23
Never heard of him, but appears he is a juco teammate of Charles Manning and signed with Winthrop.
LINK
I haven’t seen where he has been released from his letter to Winthrop, or has committed to LSU. Do you have a link?

What did Texas de Brazil do to become the go-to spot for all of LSU's recruiting efforts? I never even consider it to be an option when selecting restaurants and rarely speak to anyone who goes there. Seems like just a random spot of all the places in BR

I spotted assistant coaches and recruit(s) at Sullivan's recently.

How many scholarships are available after the new commit? Is there space for a transfer to redshirt?
Posted on 8/6/19 at 8:39 am to ProjectP2294
1 left.
If LSU does what WW has indicated in interviews, I would expect them to get one more post player that would likely be a sit-out transfer.
There is a transfer from Western Kentucky mentioned a few posts up that looks like he has potential. I watched a few highlight videos.

Yeah, that's why I was asking, to make sure that something like that was still in play. I just see so much value in that redshirt year.

So with Thomas committing, does that put a bow on the 2019 basketball recruiting thread? We need a 2020 thread.
Edit: Nevermind, if we have one spot left.

Tolu Smith update
Corey Evans of Rivals.com reported source information via Twitter that in addition to the Hogs, “LSU, Texas A&M & WVU are among the group of schools involved” for Smith, and that he “could potentially visit all four before committing.”

Lets see. Young, hungry athletes are presented with a high quality salad bar, good soups, and a variety of unusual grilled meats. And they can eat all they want. Many of these young men have not had the same background as you. Heck the first time I ate at a real restaurant was when I graduated from high school.
