They lost their starting center from last season to the NBA Draft and currently don't have a center on their roster.
LSU is in the same boat

I just realized that our center (Kavell BW) transferred here from Oregon and thrived, so if Dante´s top 2 suitors for 2019 (if he reclassifies) are Oregon and LSU...

If LSU lands Dante there is a great chance another SEC Championship is in the offing.

The NLI signing year ends August 1 for signing the 2019-20 NLI. After August 1, only an athletic aid agreement can be signed for the upcoming 2019-20 academic year. #NLI

Former LSU PG Randy Livingston coached MacDonald this spring and summer on his U16 EYBL team. MacDonald is beginning to get some offers. He does need some weight but is really quick and has a nice shot and can get to the rim.

Yep but Courtese is a legit Center. I think he can give us a good 20 min per game. Or if we get Dante he could play 10 min or so at backup center and 10 min or so as Watford's backup at PF.
BTW..the more I see Dante the more he reminds me of Stanley Roberts. He is a better defender than Roberts but his build is similar and also like Roberts he is almost unstoppable in the low post.

Did Embody CB Dante to LSU last night? It's locked, but that's what it looks like.

That is correct, but a NLI does not have to be signed. The actual last day for him would be the last day of freshman registration, whatever that date is.

he did but also doesn't sound optimistic about his chances of qualifying either

Is this the longest a recruiting thread has ever lasted past the supposed recruiting period?
It’s getting a bit silly.

Nice to see Walker's Jalen Cook giving up football his senior year to concentrate on basketball per Livingston Parish News. Already getting ready to be a Tiger.

wish he would hurry up and make a decision.

It’s not about him making a decision right now. It’s about whether he CAN reclassify based on the academic work done this summer. That decision is not up to him.
He likely has his mind just about made up on what school he’ll choose; but it doesn’t make sense for him to release that if he can’t even reclassify.

makes sense. Well hurry up and finish summer school lol #bootup

I think he is done. According to Billy, he is just waiting on grades and to see if what he has done will be enough to clear him to re-classify. I assume (as it was not said specifically) that this is an NCAA thing to decide. Hopefully Woodward can call in some family strings; b/c I doubt the NCAA is looking to do LSU basketball any favors at this point.

Can someone clear up for me about when/time Dante will finish his summer classes in order to reclassify? Gotta be soon?

Man, as I stated above, based on info Billy has put out there, the hay is pretty much in the barn on him being done with classes and whatnot. Now they have to see if his grades and test scores are where they need to be to allow him to reclassify. Word is that a decision on if he can Could possibly come by the end of the month. If he is able to reclassify, then he would likely make his decision known in pretty short order thereafter.
If he can’t reclassify, then he makes the decision to finish out his senior year of h.s. and be a 2020 recruit/signee; or it has been rumored that he could possibly go play oversees this coming year and then enter NBA draft in 2020.

One of our possibilities for next season just removed LSU from consideration. 6-10 C Jonathan Aku, who visited at the end of June, just dropped us. He is reclassifying to 2019. Just a guess that he wants to play right away while I believe our staff would have liked him to redshirt. He needs to add weight. He's only about 200 lbs. I really don't think he would have played much this coming season. He and Cooper have very similar games. With Courtese having already been in the program for a year, I think he is a better option to contribute this coming season.

Any idea who was on campus today? We passed WMFW with a recruit and family around 4:00.
