IMG isn't bringing in kids from all over the country and paying their tuition solely out of the goodness of their hearts. There clearly is an agenda to form relationships with the kids and their families with the hope of profiting off them in the future.

They bring in the elite players who are the most highly recruited, so it isn't as though the stock of Patterson or Moses would be enhanced by IMG, but IMG could clearly recoup their investment down the line if a kid pans out. Clever the way they set the whole thing up, but it's also a bit unseemly.

" You're 100% correct and that should be made clear. Dylan Moses has never played a single down for the BL'ers. It's the perception, though, that really matters. I would bet a lot of people assume he did. Regardless, they have seen it before and this just seeds the negative sentiment these coaches have about the program.

For obvious reasons, IMG had a major interest in Moses. He is a tremendous athlete and kid, but it does not sit well with a lot of people, and rightfully so. This state changes its high school football rules due to the nature of recruiting between local private and public schools. Now you have an entity like IMG come in and flip the kid for his final season. It's just going to rub a lot of people the wrong way. It really threatens the fragile foundation of high school football.
***************************************************************************

... THIS + 1000% ... I'm sure the U-High folks , the coaches, the team mates , all think this is just duckie. Not . They put in the years of work to develop , then the kid gets all the big sell "hollywood" from IMG and he bolt for his Sr season ... I would be HUGELY pissed if a U-High coach or admin person, or teammate ....

If a UHIGH kid complains about this but would go if IMG offered him, he's a hypocrite... if UHIGH would gladly take the best player on idk, Woodlawn, they're hypocrites.

OK I have no dog in this fight but can someone explain to me why I shouldn't hate IMG's guts?

A junior receiver from our local HS here is headed to IMG. He has over 20 offers so far. Stole him from us.

Why would I care if a bama prospect goes to img? School recruiting like college makes my stomach turn.

i think the biggest difference is that IMG actually had educational facilities and an established history of handling young athletes

ah, the irony of posts on a collegiate recruiting message spouting elevated concerns about the sanctity of high school football

IMG makes money by filling 1/2 of the team with studs on scholarship and then having the remaining 1/2 pay $70k/year to attend

they can only pitch the sell to the kids who will pay if they can create a super team, and a super team around those kids is needed to make up for their lack of quality

their stock may not be enhanced but their quality as a player and person will almost assuredly be enhanced

Just a moronic statement. U high is part of the Lhasa and follows its rules. IMG doesn't do follow the rules and therefore can't play legit games.

A lawsuit will end this one day when someone like a S Lab has a player get a serious injury playing IMG in a non sanctioned high school event.

They will sue everyone, both states, IMG, etc.

good job at dismissing reality b/c it proved your point wrong

they do. they even offer a prep/finishing school option iirc

you're not going to have parents who can drop $70k actually drop $70k unless those kids are getting educated

how many IMG kids don't qualify? i imagine it's very low if at all. prime prep had some very noteworty qualification issues

Is the argument against IMG that they are stealing the best talent for a year that was brought up by the local community? I'm trying to figure out why there is such a passionate dislike for what they are doing. I don't have an opinion on the matter yet.
