what are our biggest needs in 2014 considering the amount of players we have lost this year to the draft?
who are the must haves and how do we fare in keeping the talent that we have in Louisiana in-state?
and if you want, what is your wishlist (realistically) for 2014?

Don't we do this in every single thread?
Anyway, #1 is LF.
Then there is everyone else

After Fournette, I'd say the WR corp needs a complete overhaul. I'd sign at least 4.

We should pick up a qb for sure. To make sure we keep stability there. Obviously LF is our biggest target. Keep refreshing the oline. Another Te. Fb. A couple defensive tackles. DBs
Pretty much one player at every position at least. Focus on rb wr and dt

I concur with the rest of the thread.. After LF its all bottoms up.

Our weakest positions the last 5 years have been WR and QB. We need to focus on bringing in some elite talent in these positions.

will clapp and cam Robinson are just as important as fornette is. Clapp is an lsu legacy that is a legit all American candidate at tackle. Losing a kid like that to bama would be a bigger loss than Landon Collins or god forbid fornette. However both will be tigers.

So is Brumfield who I feel has a higher ceiling that Clapp just not the same nasty streak. Hopefully we get at least 2 of the 3 because all 3 have major interest OOS.

Fournette may not be the best recruit on our radar, but he is undeniably the most important at this point. Bottom line, the LSU coaching staff have put all their (tailback) eggs in that one basket.
It looks like the positions that will benefit us the best are:
> Secondary - Possibly three 5-stars (Paris, Brown, and Hootie)
> Receiver - Four instate studs, and 3 top Texas kids
> O-Line - Three instate studs, plus possibilities for Spain, Stanley, or Bauer
But depending on how things evolve, perhaps running back, D-Line and/or linebacker could turn out just as sweet. People get gaga over the instate players, and understandably so I guess. But it's the OOS guys we might reel in that have a chance to elevate our 2014 class to new heights.

Absolutely not WR! Our LBs were almost as weak as our QBs the last few years. Our WRs have been very good. We haven't had a Julio Jones, but Randle, Jarvis Landry, OBJ are studs. WRs just seem bad because our QBs have sucked. Man, we had Karnell Hatcher starting at LB last year. That was the worst football player I've ever seen start at LSU. Karnell Hatcher, man! I'm still traumatized by that.
Now look what you've done. I got to go take something for my nerves.

Agree. All three are equally important.

What happened to the stickied thread with all of the prospects and links? I searched for that last week and didn't see it.

Someone asked that they clean all the stickies posts up and they left only the 2013 recruiting stuff..

Sheppard and Minter trump that.
