Under the current system, if you are scheduled to be a starter, you should be in the portal every year. At worst, you get a raise from someone.

The system sucks, but it is what it is for now

You're an idiot. It's hilarious that every player that leaves is a selfish me first player that's looking for a payday, meanwhile you have no problem with the guys that transfer in. Are they not selfish me first guys because they came to LSU? The hypocrisy is off the charts.

If they transfer in from a school that has NO chance of winning a Championship, No. I dont have a problem with that. If they transfer in from a Ohio State, Texas, etc, BUT wouldn't be a starter. No. I dont have a problem with that.

If they transfer in from a Ohio State, Texas, etc AND were a starter. Yes, they are doing it for selfish reasons.

Leaving LSU as a starter - You are doing it for selfish reasons.

Period.

Players are now doing what coaches have done for years. Get your name out there, get some interest, and create a healthy raise for yourself at your current school.

re-read my 1st post here... i mention the guys who are linked to following Lane from Ole Miss... most people who follow LSU recruiting have heard the names already, thus i didn't write them, as most know who i'm talking about...

again, you either are willfully being ignorant, b/c the truth of the matter doesn't support your argument, or you really are that stupid... one or the other.... i'll let you choose which one of the above is more applicable...

More accurately, player agents. A whole new economic system has been created for CFB player agents and without contracts or salary caps like the NFL, it's the wild west.

This is a head scratcher. Very dynamic with the ball in his hand. I think he would kill it in LK’s offense.

The problem with talking about OM guys is that its not guaranteed that those guys are definitely coming. And with them pulling a rabbit out of the hat and winning last night, thats just more time they are able to get sucked in to the emotional piece of staying with the team thats accomplished so much together.

So right now, the conversation is only about current LSU guys and those in the actual portal. Itll be great if those OM guys do come, but I guarantee they will be offered some hefty paydays to stay, especially if OM knows they would be going to LSU.

I'd be shocked if he actually left. This is about getting more $ from LSU. He'll have a good QB, whoever that is, and LK calling plays for him.

Well your criticism of Parker makes even less sense being that he was our 4th or 5th receiver. By your standard you should have an issue with any player that leaves Ole Miss and comes to us being that Ole Miss is a playoff team correct?

totally agree... i personally think it got harder to draw those guys away after last night, but i guess we'll see...

i'm more in the mind of keep your better players, guys who actually have shown production and value, but i guess we'll see what direction LSU decides to go in....

We have incoming receivers that are better and know the system already. No worries on those departing.

Parker would be a starter next year. However, this is not just about Parker. It's not his fault the team went 7 - 6.

It is the LSU culture to be all about the money and not team or university (ever since the NIL wars started) .

Again, look at Indiana. You can tell the players love the team and university.

Can Lane change that culture? I hope so.

Those Indiana players will act the same as ours when offers start coming in, and the offers will start coming to players in the spotlight.

Isn't half of Indiana's team out of the portal? I just googled it, there were 30 in 2024, and another 24 in 2025. That's not love of university, that's blatantly building a team from free agency (money).

I feel like there needs to be some rules as to transferring and having to sit out a year, maybe based on what grade you are in. So, if you are going to be a junior or senior you can transfer without sitting out. But if you are a fresh/soph then if you transfer you have to sit out a year like it used to be.

You can't have this system with an entire team transferring out. That is just stupid.

And the schedule needs to be changed as Saban said too.

Cignetti had to hit the portal. How many of those players were STARTERS from Texas, Ohio State, LSU, Alabama, etc.?

How many Indiana STARTERS hit the portal last year? How many Indiana STARTERS will hit the portal this year?

Those are the questions to be answered.
