Remember so upset when he flipped on us last second, I think to bama (then TCU), now headed to UNLV. Maybe we didn’t lose what we thought we had.

That’s what happens when grown men freak out about high school kids they’ve never seen play all because a website put 4 or 5 stars next to his name.

And it’s not that they don’t have talent. Heck Saban offered him. But majority of them don’t have it between the ears and don’t have the support system to guide them along the way. Some also think they should be the star or big fish in their small pond.

I started following recruiting in 2000-01 with Torran Williams. Before that, I just picked up pieces here and there from people I knew that followed closely. I stopped following so close around 2019-2020. I’m happy I did. I can’t imagine following so close now with NIL potentially ripping a highly touted prospect away at the last moment. I’ll root for them once I actually see them in the a jersey in the fall.

Yeah.

More often than not, those last minute flips (of long time commits away from us) end up being a bust in CFB.

History doesn’t favor Underwood.

And you're still crying about Seneca leading scorer knight. Guess we are even.

A parent in their 40s saying they want their kid to retire them now is telling for the structure they have. Maybe it’s the spite for the game he played, but I don’t expect immediate results from him.

He was tiny and scrawny in high school. Never got the melt about him aside from the fact that Bama took him, he doesn’t have the frame to develop into an elite player

Got another one for you. I wasn't posting on this board back then but read it a little. Remember a guy names Darron Reed that committed to LSU and also flipped. I remember a few Chicken Littles back then acting like LSU was being destroyed in recruiting yet again. Well, the DL is also on the move from Auburn in the portal and is headed to Starkvegas. Once again, Gerry Dinardo and perhaps others have said it best. "You don't worry about the players you don't sign but instead regret signing the ones who never contribute like you expect."

I might eat the words but I think USC giving millions to Stewart will be a laugh riot. These guys almost never pan out after screwing LSU

And now we give millions to these young high school players like they already made it in life.

iirc they flipped Earle and Keanu koht, both were considered sure things to pan out. Both are gone having done nothing.

Absolutely thought both would be studs... Their film looked elite.. Both extremely explosive athletes coming out of high school. Some things thats are really hard to determine watching high school film is actual intelligence and work ethic.
