3) 5-star EDGE Zyron Forstall

School: Jesuit (New Orleans, LA)

Scout’s Take: “Forstall is a versatile edge defender who can line up with his hand in the dirt, in a two-point stance on the line of scrimmage or as an off-ball Mike backer. His athleticism and violent play style allows for him to be a true Swiss Army knife of a defender. The New Orleans native has the burst and first step quickness to be disruptive as a pass rusher off the edge, but he also possesses the raw power and punch to be a stout run defender as well. Plus, his ability to run sideline to sideline allows him to be a dominant flat defender and space player. Forstall’s skillset allows him to be a versatile chess piece for any defensive coordinator at the next level and beyond.” — Cody Bellaire, On3 National Scout

Never thought I'd see the day where Jesuit and Brother Martin each have a 5-star recruit in the same class.

Oh I see you are looking at the composite. He is not a 5 star WR on any other services that i saw. If he becomes a true 5 star after this summer and football season, then I truly see the duo at St. Aug becoming that as well. When is the last time or is this the first time the CL had 4 potential 5 stars in one class?

You must not have been around for the Joe McKnight recruitment.

With Peoples being one of the top edge coaches in CFB and Forstall being a local kid will maintain a sense of optimism.

We have a great edge room this year. We need them to show out.

Correct; I should have clarified.

They are studs, no doubt. But I don't think the recruiting services would be quick to dole out 5* rankings to two guys on the same team, much less two guys who play the same position on the same team. That's especially true in Louisiana, as despite consistent high-level production in college and beyond, recruiting services always seem to cap the number of blue chip prospects coming out of Louisiana.

That's a great question, and one I don't know the answer to.

I didn't follow recruitment; I was busy in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea controlling the sea lanes.
