It might sound cliche, but I’d say he was processed. He’s 5’10 and 160 lbs and is a 3 star by most publications. We just landed a big name at the position and might be garnering interest from more high level corners.

Also it is my understanding that Bell committed to the Tigers when Corey Raymond was not on staff. Corey probably has a different player assessment than the prior defensive coaches.

Dandydon has him at 160 lbs. To damn small. Plus I think we have better CB's then him at this time and it could grow. Good luck in DIV2.

I would assume the answer will almost always be "more money"

Yeah. The 3 star from GA is holding out for money. SMDH
Some of y’all are so jaded from NIL that you can’t think straight.

NIL money isn’t that big in HS recruiting. It can be. But FA type spending is TP.

He said "God's plan"...that makes me think he was told to move on.

Didn't know squat about him even though he was the first commit.

Not surprising at all. LSU just got a much higher rated CB to commit in Antoine and right now you would be hard pressed to find a school recruiting as hot as LSU is for the 2025 cycle. So I believe it was a combination of what his projected competition would be at his positionb and maybe also the Corey Raymond type of CB he prefers. Antoine for example is taller and heavier than Bell.

Bell's offer sheet a year out is good assuming all are committable offers so I see this as a win-win.

My guess is that he either saw playing time would be hard to come by, or he was asked politely to look around. Corey Raymond does not think he is a good fit for his secondary. 4 reasons below:

No room for him- Currently, we have 13 CB and 8 Safeties on the roster
We are hot now in recruiting, just signed Antoine who is much better
Not in the Corey CB mold- not talented enough for this hot 25 class.
Only 150 lbs. 3 star. We can find stronger CB for 25 class

Now that we have Corey, it’s 5 star and high 4 stars only.

Processed.

This is pretty sick. With Bell decommitting, we have all 4 or 5-stars according to On3's Rankings...

But but Kelly can only recruit 3 stars……signed dumb side of fan base.

He honestly might have been told to explore more options.

I thought this but it's so early on would you really tell a 2025 kid that right now? I'd think you'd rather encourage him to keep getting better and then maybe have that conversation in the spring or something.

Kid committed in Nov. of 2022. Staff looks a hell of a lot different now. He very well could just feel like it's a different situation than when he committed.

Either way, I think we'll be fine.

First off, it’s too. Secondly he is a junior in high school, what he weighs now is not what he is going to weigh in 2 years.

The guy has multiple D1 offers and was committed to a SEC school as a junior. He might not be what Raymond wants in a corner but comments like this are both ignorant, and unnecessary.
