How good of a chance does Max have to start at UNC?

Extremely high

Drake Maye's backup this year was a redshirt freshman who is like 6'0 and and was a 3-star. They have a 6'7 kid who served as 3rd stringer who has been around 4 years now and made no real noise at all, he hit the portal. They had a true freshman Tad Hudson behind them who was a low 4-star.

They are bringing in a lightly recruited 3-star freshman as well.

They needed a transfer QB in a big way with experience. I doubt Max loses out to them.

Congratulations to Texas A$M graduate Max Johnson! 1-0* in the LSU vs A$M rivalry game!

ETA: *As a starter.

as much as we make fun of poor Max, I can definitely see him in a NFL camp holding a clipboard for a couple of years

He will likely get the start barring unusual circumstances.

I can see him being invited to a camp and getting cut early. He does not have an NFL arm, has terrible mechanics, a slow release, and has terrible footwork. He provides no value to an NFL team except his dad having a super bowl ring.

I'd buy what you're selling if Max didn't suck at playing QB.

I mean, I guess he'd make a pretty good tackling dummy for young edge rushers.

Damn; aggy is a case study on why filling your program with nothing but hired mercenaries is a bad, bad idea.

Last one out hit the lights.

Lawd can you imagine Elko right now

Now Elko has to recruit. This is not the ACC where you can earn a good win/loss record with 2 and 3 star 4-5 year seniors.

Yeah, they have definitely taken a perception hit with me. I would think Johnson would have a bright future with the Aggies. Max, not so much. But Jake, yes.

And if he goes to UNC, what does he do the following year?
