Yeah I’m assuming Mateer is following his OC from Wash St, and he’s definitely an upgrade over Arnold

There's free agency going on. They will just replace him with someone else. He's got some talent but he's not a program changer.

It's not about him specifically. It's that through him they showed they don't know what the frick they're doing.

Haven't their last two qb's been portal guys

Hartman and Leonard both had a ton of experience before transferring. Not sure Arnold fits that mold

He's enlisting in the Army; he's going to make a good flag football QB.

Or they found out he's not that good and can't afford to wait on him.

Not because he's that good, but because they bet the farm on him and then panicked.

I don't think they panicked. They just realized their bet on him was bad, because he can't play.

I’ll admit, I was nervous after OU finally started calling QB draws and he broke off a couple of first down runs. I started having flashbacks to 2019 John Rhys Plumlee. Thankfully Weeks buried him and he wasn’t a factor after that

How do you lose Dillon Gabriel last year because you're going to roll with Jackson Arnold, and then lose Jackson Arnold this year?

They're getting the Washington State QB with the new OC.

Venables is getting fired isnt he?

No shot. They just signed him to a six year extension in June of this year. His buyout right now would be $44.8 million.

He will cut up in the right system. Oklahoma was a terrible situation.

He’s really good. He’d go crazy with LSU receivers.

lol.....I picked up on the Sarcasm....since they have a really good defense and finished 6-6. He was benched this year, and they had zero offense.

Nope, the OC is taking it on the chin, though. Talked to a few OK fans walking to the truck after the game. They all want to keep Venables and try a new OC out before they think about moving on.
