I am happy to hear we have many top kids verbally committed, but too many people are going overboard already with the Number 1 ranking, etc. It's not how you start it's how you finish.

Don't eat yellow snow.

Equally new concept.

Do the names Ismael Sopsher and Patrick Surtain Jr. ring a bell. Pardon me if I don't get all gliddy, happy, and all shook up cause pundits think we have the number 1 recruiting class right now.

Neither were ever openly committed to LSU. Bad examples.

What were the dates that these two guys were verbally committed to LSU?

Using two players that were never committed to LSU really doesn’t help build your case.

Looks like LSU is now giving degrees away.

Hey Nostradamus, everyone knows this. You’re worse than those posters who tell other posters not to take the other team lightly like we will be the ones lining up against them on the field.

Wait. I'm confused. There is a difference between a verbal commitment and an official commitment ? Holy shite, that changes everything ! Please send a double-spaced memo to the powers that be so that this highly sophisticated and arcane knowledge doesn't slip into enemy hands !

At what point were either of those two verbally committed?

Kenyon Green would be a better example.

Or Adam Anderson

Or Jaran Handy

Or Dylan Moses

Or that Mormon QB who never developed

There are a TON of examples and this dude chooses 2 guys that never committed to shite.

Kelvin Joseph and Derek Stingley both decommitted at some point but eventually signed with us. In addition, you aren't taking into account that in some cases they decommit because the coaches tell them to look elsewhere.

Would you rather us be ranked with the 150th overall class with 0 commits right now? Fact, we currently sit with the #1 class. It’s not like all our guys committed are going to leave. Do we finish #1? I’m not sure it’s early, but we have a damn strong class right now and we absolutely can finish #1.

Nothing?

I suspect what you mean is that they don’t mean EVERYTHING and that you have a hard time dealing with that reality.

Sopsher never verbally committed and Surtains signing day charge rarely happens. I mean if you hate recruiting then you should probably stay off the board as this stuff happens but recruiting nihilism because of the rare commitment change is silly.

Just like corporate revenue means “nothing” until it’s converted to cash.

C’mon, man. We all know that verbals are non-binding. But the off-season is nine months long. Fans need something to get excited about, and verbals serve as a nice leading indicator. Just enjoy the ride.

I was only trying to bring about some sanity to the 2020 recruiting cycle. Looking at other posters one would believe it's a done deal, they are in house, and/or adding to our roster depth. Daddy always said "Don't count your chickens before they hatch!" Just trying to put things in perspective.

Well it's true! Love that it's happening, but to see all these adults gushing all over this shite so early is retarded! We all know things will change and can we have a little time to enjoy the previous class!
