Verbals and rankings mean nothing until a kid signs on the dotted line. Until then it's all rumor, innuendo, and speculation as to where these kids end up.

Would you rather us be ranked with the 150th overall class with 0 commits right now?

If that was the case, I wouldn't be flipping out cause I know it's not gonna finish that way! If we end up with a 10, does it really matter if we had a 1 or a 9 way before?

In the early signing period LSU had almost every single then committed verbal sign. The two who did not sign, eventually did.

Sometimes it feels like more kids decommit than actually do. I would guess we end up with about 75% of the kids who originally commit and much, much, much less from uncommitted kids.

So verbal commits do matter, they matter a lot.

Well it actually means we have a good shot of landing this recruit so I wouldn't say it means NOTHING...

Mmmhhmmm. Who knew But it does indicate a high level of interest and I’d rather see a prospect committed to LSU than committed to Bama for instance

I wouldn't say verbal's mean nothing, I mean there's a higher percentage of verbal's that do sign than those that decommit. Rankings mean something, they just don't mean as much as a lot of people believe. Just because a kid is rated a 5 star doesn't mean he will be a star and just because he is a 2 star doesn't mean he won't. A lot is subjective, much more than objective. But, I'd say a verbal means much more than a ranking.

Must read . However, the OP isdead wrong. Most kids that commit actually sign.
