Okay. I don't get why you can't have an impression of the guy until September. Fair enough?

I don't care whether you are trying to be negative or not. You shared your opinion. I think it differs from many that post here, so don't be surprised when people disagree with you.

Dude has been recruiting well. But lets not pat a defensive coordinator on the back before he coordinates a defense.

I'm not really comparing him to Chavis. I'm looking at it more from his body of work as a DC at past stops.

The Last comment I made about Steele got me banned. I have never understood this hire. Doesn't matter he's here now I just hope he's up to it

My concern at this point is game planning, strategy and in game day adjustments. We will always have the talent on defense.

legit concern, but imo orgeron will help. no offense to brick, but had they kept him, with the hire of steele, I would be far more concerned about the defense.

Imagine if we snagged one from Alabama and picked up one from the east coast. This is something we LSU recruiting followers have been dreaming of for years.

Our best 4 linebackers under les have come from ga and bama. So usually we do get them from out of state. 3 of those being from a state on the Atlantic, which is the east coast.

Not sure if I agree with this, but it is great to see Steele work as hard as he has.

Well, by all means, he should sit on his arse then.

I was down on the Steele hire, but he is without question recruiting very very well. It takes confidence in the DC to get commitments, not just a great position coach, although that really helps

I don't think this is what surprised him. It's the prick attitudes and insults. He has shown maturity toward those who disagreed; you? Not so much.

True. I was thinking about a 5-star recruit, like Garett, but from areas where we have had difficulty pulling top recruits from in the past.

I don't think anyone questioned his ability to recruit. Most of us are probably more concerned with how he'll handle our defense on gameday. I'd say when you keep the cupboard full on talent it doesn't matter but we all saw Malveto with plenty of talent. One of which was so bad at LSU yet somehow had a decent career in the NFL. Don't underestimate coaching.

But yeah, if he keeps recruiting like he is and LSU has 11 5 stars on defense you could probably line them up and just say play football and let the athleticism takeover while Steele drinks a beer on the sideline.
