LSU has 8 OL in the NFL , but could use more (obviously) talent on the current roster

While I hope Chasen Hines really improves, he was by far the weakest link across that line this year and LSU has to get better at that spot.
Who knew Kardell Thomas was going to loose his way. I am hoping that Hines, Thomas or Marlon Martinez decides they want that spot and do what is necessary

A lot of guys didn't appear to be in very good shape this year, and I'd put Hines in that category. Obviously, Thomas never played, but given his past weight issues and him coming off a serious injury, I'm going to assume he wasn't in great shape either.
Hopefully, this offseason will provide a little more normalcy as far as S&C goes and guys aren't having to workout on their own quite so much.

Reminds me of a Jacob Hester quote about Freeman, “LSU’s at the one yard line”

Current olineman in nfl:
Ou- 5
Clemson - 4
Harvard- 4
Find this difficult to believe. You got a link?

On mobile and awful at posting links.
LINK
It wasn't to say Harvard is some oline pipeline, just talent comes from anywhere, and 4 years is a lot of time for a kid to develop. Auburn and a few other schools with serious interest is more of a telling sign then a ranking or where they come from.

Why do they keep having to count on grad transfers every year?
because OL recruiting has been tough going for us really for as long as I can remember here at LSU. We have never recruited, going back to Saban, Miles, Dinardo, etc., the ideal amount of OL's consistently in recruiting classes. Should bring in 4-6 every class with 4 being the floor.

LSU has taken 1 grad transfer OL in its history.
and he sucks, so why go back looking to get water from this well?

I was responding to a post that said “why do we continually go after grad transfer offensive linemen.”
The answer is we don’t.

Wht happen to Bradford? I thought he was suppose to be our”most talented” lineman going into the summer

yeah, and that defense was light years ahead of the 2019 too... see how well that evaluation panned out, right?

That’s fair. I think Cregg is good at adding the finishing touches to guys but can’t develop them.
Honest question which o-line that came as a freshmen can you say has gotten better since they’ve been here?

And the qualifier of him having to have recruited them to have developed them is disingenuous at best. He's only got 2 recruiting classes on the team (3rd is just finishing up). So in their 2nd year if they haven't taken a starters position you consider him a fail? So if Dumervil in his freshman year didn't beat out Wire, Rosenthal, and Deculus you declare that he can't develop.
Well, here's some more for you:
- Recognized Charles' potential at OT and moved him from OG under Grimes to OT his first year. Charles was recruited as an OG. He started as an OT for 2 years under Cregg and was drafted into the NFL as an OT.
- According to this board Cushenberry would never play, much less start. Under Grimes y'all had never heard of him except for being "last man in". He started at C under Cregg and is now in the NFL.

I think martinez will be a good one if he keeps progressing
Im interested in seeing more of dumervil

LSU had a first and goal from the 1 against Missouri. How’d that work out?
Posted on 1/11/21 at 10:07 pm to TooSober
I think we need Deculus to move to Guard, and a OT to emerge
