So a team has to be worth a shite for a kid to be a fan? That doesn't make any sense. Maybe he's more of a fan of their past and thinks he could be an important piece that could get them back to where they used to be? Ever thought about that?

If Logan is 18 years old then how could he be a life long 'Cane fan? The last time Miami was relevant was when LSU kicked them 40-3 in that bowl game and then kicked them into the tunnel when the game was over. Then they went out that night and stole the Cane player's girl friends. That was TEN years ago. Logan was in the second grade. How's he going to remember that?

Kids don't randomly become fans of teams that aren't local, very good, or family influenced. It just doesn't work that way. You telling me this kid watched the 30 for 30 on Miami and became a fan?

If I had to guess, he looked up to Ed Reed and that's how he became a Miami fan. But if the kid has said he's always been a Miami, why does it matter how he became a fan? And should we really be judging him for that when we're trying to get him to come to LSU?

I think the Interest in Miami could have come from several roots but the only thing matters is that it's real

I said it three weeks ago that this kid is the most important commitment we have. He is so versatile. Unfortunately I think Ed O is banking on mama winning the argument and making Glenn stay home ala rasco which may happen. I think he wants to leave the state. I also think a lot of attention is being paid to rashard Lawrence at the moment bc Ohio state came on strong as hell these last few months

Would you want to play at a school that will not compete for a nc while you are there and in front of 20k people or would you rather play for a nc every year in front of 100k? Sounds like a pretty simple decision from a football standpoint.

so Kevin Faulk should have gone to Florida State

Who said he watched a 30 for 30 and became a fan? Football fans know what Miami's past is all about. He may have grown up liking the way they played and just became a fan... Who cares honestly about how/why he is a fan though?

He was born in 1998. Miami has been irrelevant his entire life as an aware individual.

If he's a Coker fan, he should go to LSU...

I'm talking about their past...what is so hard to understand about that. I never said Miami was relevant during his lifetime. He knows about Miami's past like every other football fan. Like I also said maybe he thinks he could be an important piece that could possibly bring them back to being relevant

That's different than being a lifelong Miami fan.

So? where is it written that for a kid to be a lifelong fan of a team that that the team has to be a title contender? For MOST kids that may be true but it is not a given. It doesn't matter how bad they have been or why he became a fan, if he is in fact a fan of the team.

Stop being obtuse. The lifelong fan thing is being oversold here. He is probably a lifelong LSU fan, too. Or did he just randomly fall in love with a team he had no connection to and sucked balls his entire life?

How so? There has been more consternation about how he could have been a fan of them than actual mention of him being a fan.

i am not being obtuse. you are getting your panties in a wad because a player you (and I want) LSU to sign may not sign here.

maybe, but just as much by those questioning it.

i have no idea, maybe so, still doesn't mean he can't be a Miami fan.

Well do you know he had no connection? Someone mentioned Ed Reed, does he or someone in his family know Reed? Maybe some adult in his life was a Miami fan from way back and he is too. Again where is it written that a kid can not possibly be a fan of team that is not an elite title contender. But you are still missing the point. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHY OR IF HE IS A MIAMI FAN, if he is it is his choice.

THe stadium is about 20 miles from the school (30 mins). Shitty stadium to watch a CFB game in imo. Nothing like the old orange bowl.
