You better hope Clark comes first, because if we get a top QB first, it may scare him away. Especially Longstreet who has a lot of eligibility left.

Clark will beat out Longstreet.

That’s why I’d prefer Longstreet over leavitt. Longstreet won’t come with any need for guarantees.

As for leavitt. If that’s where we end up it is what it is. Clearly Clark knows we are working for leavitt and would be willing to sit for 1 year and have 2 years to follow.

But then we waste money on Longstreet. Because Longstreet will be gone next year.

It doesn’t bother me either way. Because if we get Sam and Clark, I think Clark is OK with learning the ropes for a year while Sam plays.

Are you under the impression that we are going to have one qb total next year?

I’m not sure what gives you that impression. Absolutely not. But I don’t think we’re getting Sam and Longstreet. Longstreet is leaving USC so he can start.

Also, it’s likely that Sam is going to demand $5 million. Longstreet is a top 10 quarterback and five star. He’s going to demand quite a bit of millions as well. It’s just not probable on so many levels.

Also, if I’m Clark, I’m seeing Longstreet as a long-term investment. Whereas I see Sam as a one year investment. So it looks better for me.

Because you said if Clark starts we “wasted” money on Longstreet.

Spending money to get a talented player isn’t a waste even if he ultimately ends up backing up the cheaper guy competition is healthy.

Longstreet you can tell him “we have no one you could come in and be in position to start”

Leavitt is going to want to be guaranteed to start despite not participating in spring. And his profile he can dictate that.

If I see Longstreet and I’m Clark I see a guy who was running from competition and I’m going to beat out a guy like that.

I’m not saying that’s how the situation is in reality but that’s how a cocky 19 year old would and should see it.

And I disagree with you on Longstreet. He’s a top 10 transfer quarterback and a five star. He transferring because he wants to start. He’s the number six rated QB on the 247 transfer list. Trust me, he wants to start. I think all those guys in the top 10 are gonna be wanting to start and probably wanting some type of at least verbal communication on that.

And if the guy doesn’t play a down for LSU, and we spend multiple millions on him, that’s a pretty rough go. So yeah, if Clark starts, that kind of feels like a waste.

I think going into the season whoever we get, Longstreet or Sam, I think they’re gonna be named starter. It doesn’t mean they can’t get beaten out though.

Longstreet is not signing anywhere he isnt guaranteed to be the starting QB. Idk how people dont understand this.

Wants.

Key word.

Leavitt has had success and took a team to the CFP.

That gets you “I want to be guaranteed to start or I’m not coming” cred.

Longstreet has “people thought I was good in high school cred”

That gets you some nice money to start out and “we have no QBs I churn out great offenses and you will be first in line in competition”

I’m not saying that Longstreet is a better quarterback than Sam. I’m just saying Longstreet is going to be starting day one wherever he goes. He’s going to be demanding at least $3 million.

I don’t know what kind of quarterback Longstreet is going to be. I just know what the market is going to demand. And what he will be demanding.

I can guarantee you that LSU is not going to be investing that kind of money unless they are very sure that what they are investing in is a starting quarterback.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Clark gets to start ahead of Leavitt against Clemson due to Sam's injury not healed and never gave up the #1 position? That would be a whole lot of wasted money on Leavitt, which is exactly what is going to happen....total waste of LSU money that could have bought some much better Olinemen. I think Sam to LSU will be LK's worst move ever, and of course, it would be while at LSU. This all stinks.

You are just saying that because you think we are more likely to get Clark, not because you really think that

What a weird post. Fricking weirdos here doing fanfiction of Leavitts injury severity.

It's Clark and either Leavitt or Longstreet.

My preference is Longstreet and Clark. Both have the skills. Coach em and pick the winner to start. Remind the No 2, that Chambliss blossomed in that position.

Don’t take the risk on the foot injury healing to 100%. Bonus negative is his brother. Toss in the $ savings in this scenario.

Sam is on a 2 year plan and that came directly out of his mouth. Could that change if he balls out this year and gets a #1 draft pick grade, yes? His plan is get highest level of development possible and next year be the best in the country.
