His other options are dwindling, and presently his best offer is the I-AA institution in College Station.
He should have taken one for the team, held onto his marker, and even the new head coach would have honored his loyalty to the program.
It's not like starters on every team each season haven't went that route.
Now, if he could look into a crystal ball and see 2 successful seasons as a starter at a lesser university, then maybe he could say the gamble was worth it.
But, after being asked to greyshirt at such a late stage, you can damn well bet his scholarship would have been honored to its entirety.
I think he burnt that bridge.
Maybe not? I guess we'll see.

In the end, A&M did not offer Porter. They brought him to campus for 2 days and sat and watched film with him, watched his film again, eyeballed him, etc. The DL coach wanted him, but Sherman would not sign off on the offer ( Sherman has done this before as far as a position coach wanting a kid and he not signing off on the offer), so he committed to KY..

Man I had to wait like five minutes or more, listening to those two dweebs gush over UK basketball recruits before they got to the news about Porter.
I now hate Porter with a passion for making me do that.
Seriously, they said it was "confirmed' via twitter. Just checked Joker's twitter and didn't see anything about Porter there.
While it looks like he's joined UK football, but no one anywhere has actually confirmed this.
