He will Bryce underwood them two weeks before December signing day.
Right?
Right?

No. Eddy Kennison and Matthew Langlois does though.

This is just retarded business IQ. Why would you support a Local Kid to go to a different school in a different state? It will deter people from buying a vehicle from you.

Do we know for sure that Matt Bowers participates in NIL to directly benefit Ole Miss? I get that he's an alum there, but he has way more dealerships in Louisiana than in MS.
100% does

It will certainly deter people now that they know he did this deal.
Who knows? Maybe he has made a conscious decision to look to Ole Miss for customers instead of LSU fans.
Let's let him try that strategy and see how it works!
I love capitalism!

Because the average person will never know this deal exists, let alone that it's to push an in-state kid to a different school. An even smaller percentage of that population will even care about it. And an even smaller percentage of that population will be in the position to make a car buy decision during the time frame of this deal.
So, it will have almost no negative effects but it will get a non-negligible amount of money to a kid they want to steer to Ole Miss.

Matt Bowers loves publicity and being in the spotlight. I think that has a lot more to do with this than trying to steer this kid towards Ole Miss.

I have heard this kid has a strange throwing motion. I feel like most people freak out because of the size and athleticism of this kid at his age more so than his ability to be a qb. He could end up being great but he also could end up being just an athletic bust. Too early to freak out about this kid.

Because it has not impacted Bowers’ business at all. He’s growing and buying up dealerships because he’s obviously successful.
He knows for all the ranting here, you’ll buy your next truck from him is he’s $500 less than a competitor.

End of the day they are still Ole Miss..
Posted on 1/27/25 at 2:43 pm to Geauxldilocks
The amount of people that would not buy a vehicle from him for this reason is miniscule.

The word would need to be spread dramatically more than this board, agreed
But it needs to happen

Time for Louisiana people to stop buying car from that smuck.

Its never going to happen, some of you folks dream of things that are well beyond 99% of people's care outside this board

Ohio State took their QB from Kansas State, their RB from Ole Miss, and studs from Alabama and Georgia. While most of their 22 came from high school, they got transfers at the highest leverage positions. That’s more than supplementing.
Their best player is Smith and he came from HS recruiting. One of their RBs came from the portal, but the other was a recruit. Most of their defense was from recruiting. Their depth at OL that allowed them to keep winning through injuries- all recruiting. Their roster was built on HS recruiting. You are completely missing the fact that they 100% did supplement their roster with the portal. They just did it extremely well.
What we are doing this year is not sustainable long term and no team that has taken this approach made the playoff. FSU got close, but their HS recruiting ant QB was so bad they got left ant home when they should have been able to get in. Ole Miss got close, but they didn’t fully gel and some of their portal guys didn’t pan out. One or two never even made it there. Depending on double-digit players from the portal more than maybe one out of every four years isn’t going to get it done.

I dont think the idea of what we're doing this year to be sustainable long term, its just we finally have money to throw around and are finally taking multiple good transfers in the NIL era replacing guys who just arent where we want them to be. Long term the idea is just that, recruit elite classes just like we were able to (for 2025) then supplement by grabbing a few high end portal players and a little depth from the portal.
OSU basically got 4 starters from the portal this past year and 3/4 played on a very high to elite level and the 4th guy played on solid/good level. Thats the kind of thing we'd love to see from our transfer class this year because we did not obviously get that in 2024. Our best transfer (Daniels....Thomas?) from this last cycle wasnt even as good as OSU's 4th best transfer (the C from Bama). Will Kacmarek wasnt a starter for OSU but filled a perfect thing they needed as #2 TE mostly helping with blocking and he played alright as well. They did a great job with the portal, potentially grabbing their next starting (5-star) QB a year early to get in their system.

Their only way to trust he isn’t wound be him contributing NIL to LSU. Do you see that happening?

I agree. The foundation is recruiting. If you build that well enough, you have the money to draw in some elite talent to supplement what you have.
You just can’t depend on there being that many impact guys available every year. OSU might have been SOL if they tried the same approach as last offseason this year, because this portal class is mostly just solid starters and role players.

If you think 99% of La people don’t care that MB’s is supporting Ole Miss NIL, then you’d be incorrect
