I expect it depends on the sanctions. If severe, I would expect they are free to leave.

Not a single one. They committed due to their love of LSU, not $300,000 pay days.

More than likely yes. It will also depend on we hire, as they will hopefully try to recruit them or hopefully they were recruited by whoever we hire at their previous school. I would expect the next few rosters to be filled with a lot of transfer portal kids.

Yep this is why we need to make a hire ASAP, the team still has decent bones. If we can get a coach that can keep some and bring in a few transfer portal kids we might not have that big of a fall off.

But Idk if speed is Woody's thing

I hope so, but man, it’s hard to see this team/class sticking together. Prospective coaches will be just as uneasy coming into the uncertainty of this situation as are players. Meaning the only coach we can bring on quick will be a young unknown willing to take a chance in order for a big career bump. And it’s hard to see three 5-stars sticking around for a guy like that.

We’ll see what happens. But I’ve pretty much resigned myself to the conclusion that we’ll be wondering “what could have been” with this class for a long, long time. It really looked like the group that was finally going to get us over the elite hurdle.

Basketball players tend to gravitate to a coach.

Football players can gravitate to coach and university. There's just so many other supporting folks [including team mates that stay] in Football that things like the "family" feeling can outlast a coaching change.

I’m not saying I agree with all Woods has done but this was Wade’s doing, not Woody.

but i'll love having a coach that will ACTUALLY know how to get the most out of talent, unlike Wade

Then you’ll love this guy...

He’ll coach his 2 star roster all the way up to 2.5 stars

nah he was even worse...

but you do realize it's not a binary choice? there are a multitude of ACTUAL coaches ready to prove themselves, or that have done so already that would come here... Wade was not the be all, end all basketball coach... let's be intellectually honest.... he had success because he had some high caliber talent that could play IN SPITE of his piss poor coaching...

I hate to break this to you, but you will be wishing you had those talent levels over the next few years. And the SEC is much stronger nowadays. Things will get really ugly thanks to Wade.

I wouldn’t count on it. I would look at basketball as a rebuild job with the turnover we are likely to get. However it’s not that huge of a deal if you get a great coach because you can build a bball program back in just a year or two. Look at what Mulkey has done in just 1 year here, granted its in a much less competitive league, but it’s still remarkable .

The narrative that Wade can't coach is laughable. Johnny Jones bought as good or better talent than Wade did, and did nothing. Wade had the best record in the SEC during his 5 years here but he can't coach?

Johnny Jones was by far the worst coach I have ever witnessed. Wade was marginally better on tge court, but that isn't saying much. Wade is also going to be responsible for the dire state of the program over the next few years, while Jones didn't draw any sanctions.
