Did the broadcast crew confirm last night that Underwood’s money will be used elsewhere?

It seemed like the play by play guy last night reported that Kelly said Underwood’s flip left LSU with free funds that will be used this year elsewhere. Am I remembering this right? This would seem to go a long way towards Thomas and Stewart.

Yeah they also implied Kelly said they will be spending money this year, to me it sounded like beyond recruiting and into the portal

Came here to post the same thing. BK is gonna have to buy a center and maybe another o lineman or 2. Another stud DT as well. Does he have enough to keep either of the OT's ?

According to the, Kelly said we will be BIG spenders moving forward, especially in the portal. No more Value-mart shopping for us, we will go after name brand players.... allegedly.

I think Campbell is gone. Emory Jones could come back and elevate his status. I think we’re ok at tackle between Westyn Davis and either Jones or Tyree Adams. Something needs to change on the interior for sure. Getting a center would be huge. Probably need a safety in the portal as well unless one of the young guys shows up.

I would like to see Jones move to guard if we have a capable RT to replace him. I think he could solidify the middle with a new center.

Word is the NFL feedback was they wanted to see him at guard and he may end up back for another season. Would expect him to shift inside if he, in fact, does come back.

Sounded like Kelly is planning to go the Ole Miss route for 2025. He’s clearly feeling the heat after the disastrous 3 week slide. He knows he won’t be here much longer if he doesn’t produce next season.

What are you trying to confirm. A player they were going to give $5m to is not coming here. Therefore the $5m to that player is not being paid to that player. Of course they will use it elsewhere. It doesn’t get put in a piggy bank to build .45%annual yield.

LSU isn't poor. We have a massive NIL fund, one of the largest in the country by all accounts. 10-12 million is just way too much to pay for 1 player when we have multiple holes on defense. Dont get me wrong, based on all film I've seen of underwood, he's worth 10+ million he's truly elite. But he doesn't make us a title contender next year.
Michigan just needed a decent QB this season to be a title contender. I don't know how good of recievers they had because their QB play was so abysmal. They can afford to go all in on a QB, we couldn't.
If we can get nuss back next year, splurge in the transfer portal to help the defense we should be right back in title contention next year.
