Pretty disappointing.
Until about 2025 when you realize that Brian Kelly offered him and he’s doing just fine.
Fellas, you’ll see (or maybe some of you won’t) that we’ve got a great team of evaluators that take 3 star portals from Arky, Louisiana, Fiu etc and contend for the sec in year one.
It’s going to be a combination that f good recruiting and talent eval.
The RB is a good place to visit, and I’m not saying it has zero merit for bad feelz, but the reciprocal of all that is; CBK is eliminating the catastrophe syndrome of the TR and the RB.
Enjoy it.

Yeah. This is pretty much how I'm feeling.
Miles and Orgeron both had fairly significant deficiencies as actual football coaches, so the talent on the roster was the most important aspect of us having success with them.
Talent is still extremely important for us to consistently be where we want this program to be, but I don't have the feeling the wheels are going to come off if we miss on some big targets.

Me too. Additionally, it’s happened for decades:
The wheels have been tightly screwed on for 3 stars that became draftees. They were never misses. Too early to tell, but 3 star Mason Taylor is doing just fine.
Furthermore, Hurley has 15 months to increase his rating to make the stargazers change their minds.
But he didn’t need that much time for CBK to give him an offer.

Yea it’s pretty funny how all of a sudden the jock sniffing nerds who want to be scouts have those concerns? They just realized he’s 6’0. He’s also 15. So he may grow a little more
Oh and Ryan Day had him has his top QB prospect for the class so I don’t think I’d be too worried

Red Shirt Freshman at 17 or True Freshman at 17 really not at big deal only difference is that when he turns 17 he will have been in the program with our coaches for a year

Only thing I can m say is the qb coach he has here is the same one that has worked with Anthony Richardson. Dude is an idiot on the radio all the time. I do like him going after what is the supposedly the best in the area though. I think it is very tough coming to college that early. That could be an issue. Would not be surprised to see him come home and go to Florida or Florida state. The qb coach is on record saying many times it is not where you sign anymore but where you use the portal to transfer to.

Please tell us where you have gained this much knowledge? You seem to know what’s best for High school recruits
Well, I was a football recruit (who didn't pan out) and am the father of a football recruit. So I come from that perspective. Not sure why my opinion threatens you. It's not that remarkable of an opinion really: don't be in a rush, live life and your time will come.
I guess because he's our new shiny QB recruit he can do no wrong and anyone even asking "is this really the best thing for him" is wrong. That's fine. Will be interesting to see this all play out. As an LSU fan I hope it works out for the best.

247 is a fricking joke wouldn’t put any stock in what those clowns say.

But I watched a video 247 put out last week about how quarterbacks who reclassify tend to underperform, maybe they are going off past expectations here.
I watched Ewers HS tape and it was very impressive. Colin However has some maturing to do in his game. Very talented kid. But you can tell he is just finding his potential. Ewers was ready to go. He screwed up going to Ohio St. He has yet to catchup to the DB speeds in college.

Their hypothesis, and that's all that it is since there really isn't a lot of data on this, is that the last year let's the athlete mature more and gain more playing experience. In Hurley's case I have to wonder how much beneficial experience he can really gain staying at his school with the level of competition he faces.
Trinity Christian is in the smallest metro high school division (Florida just completely reorganized their setup). It's easier to think about the previous organization. There were 8 classifications and Trinity was 2A last year (3A previously). Since he started as an 8th grader, he will have 4 years of experience. How much better can he get at that level?

Did they update Stetson Bennett's ranking?

I have no opinion of the kids ability, my concern is all the ones here that are telling the kid what to do. He has to make his own choices, good or bad. He has put in the work, it’s his choice.

Just look at the offer list. The big names want him even more now.

Don’t they always make guys work their way up when they are all of the sudden in a new class?
How much did he drop on overall composite in 247?

Desmond Ricks and Quinn Ewers stayed near or at the top

Yea the recruiting services are pretty much a joke. Most people know it.
Look at the offers not a ranking handed out by people who never played or only played in high school.
I’ll trust the coaches whose jobs depend on evaluating talent over people who are known to manipulate their rankings and content to generate clicks
