Told yall we got him! It’s either people celebrating a Louisiana dawg staying home or hating he’s a 3*

I’m glad he’s coming here. This is the kind of kid we end up looking back on saying “why didn’t we take him” when he blows up at another school that we look down our noses at

So between bates, Johnson, woodland, foster and causey that’s 5 corners plus 2 safeties in rogers and mcbryde. 7 incoming freshmen have to think this room will be ok in 2 years

We have to keep Baites and hope Juan Johnson becomes the corner the staff thinks he can. This will require a very good coach to develop these guys because they aren’t polished. The athletes are there, now we need to get the coaching.

Excellent pick up.
And in before Trouser Twat comes in with some negative spin.

I was expecting more complaining about him being a 3*

2024 DB class is building the foundation for future classes

It’s important to fill spots of need and trust the staff’s evaluations. The rebuild wasn’t going to happen over night. Fans need to stay patient, the really big fish will come too.
Some of these guys might even grow into the big fish. I like Causey in this class.

I notice the trend when we get a 3 star it usually goes something like...
3 star U. That'll help us compete with Georgia and Bama
That post gets downvoted into oblivion with responses like "don't be an idiot stargazer. Look at the offer sheet. A&M, Tennessee, Georgia and Oklahoma were after him."
I looked through our last decade of recruiting classes and the hit rate on 3 stars is pretty spotty which might be expexted. I guess broadly speaking 3 stars are 3 stars for a reason and the lower you go in the talent rankings, the less likely you are to hit on starters in that pool. But the recruiting evaluators can't hit on every guy who's going to outplay his ranking.
It may be worth a fuller dig on the success rate of a 3 star vs 4 when I've got the time to look at it
