If he gets offered $1M, he gone. Hopefully, someone cheap like Tampa Bay drafts him or he doesn’t get drafted at all

1 M? Kid wanted 3+ but you think he gonna settle for 1? Worth more to take an NIL deal and do college for 2 years and then get drafted for a 6M+ Slot.

FWIW, he just changed his twitter cover photo to himself wearing an LSU hat. Also Jake Brown, #1 LA recruit and LSU commit tweeted out tiger emojis which seems to give off the impression he is also attending LSU next season. LSU baseball is coming away with a lot of positive news following this years MLB draft.

I think someone is going to pay him. He's likely using LSU is leverage. You don't throw as hard as him and expect MLB teams to not make a serious money run for him. Depends on the round he's picked but he's definitely still at risk to get pick and enough money thrown his way.

Just my guess but this guy probably agreed to a lower number to be drafted which is why he's falling further in the draft. The 2-3 million number is probably not the number he's going to actually agree on. It's more likely he already agree to a number like 1.5 million and is falling in the draft.

I don't see LSU landing this guy. He throws way too hard for a lefty and MLB falls in love with guys like this. Not only that he's tall and big that still has plenty of room to fill out with more velocity. I believe there's injury concerns too which would tip him in favor to sign a contract now.

That’s not how any of this works. He would be gone already if his number was low. He can always back off today though.

If his number was lower, trans would have scrambled up draft him. That doesn’t make sense

I mean yeah, but you have to get to that $6 million slot value first. You can't just assume it's going to happen. Mo Hampton is a great example of this.

He will absolutely take 1 million, he’s not a Louisiana kid. LSU is not a high priority.

On the LSU Baseball roster the have 27 kids that are not from Louisiana. Good thing LSU was a High priority to them!

The cardinals have 6.8 million draft bonus money. Their first pick Chase Davis from AZ is going to want slot at over 3 million. They won’t have enough bonus money to pay C. Johnson.

Sources say he comin'

The No. 11 overall player and No. 2 left-handed pitcher in the class of 2023, Johnson becomes the highest-ranked prospect to ever reach campus for LSU. Dylan Crews was ranked No. 13 when he arrived in Baton Rouge.

Johnson’s father confirmed the news that he will enroll at LSU:

“He’s a Tiger at heart and extremely excited to play for Jay! Let’s Geaux!”

Outside of not being drafted, being taken by the Cardinals is the best option for us. It meant he didn't get taken by a team with a ton of money to throw around.

Johnson and Larson are going to take this all the way to the deadline.

Johnson has already indicated he's coming to school and the Cardinals assistant GM has already stated that they don't have a chance to sign him. If you think he's going to take it to the deadline you're either willfully ignorant or just stupid.
