Wants to be a Tiger. Would be a huge get. O will push for him, so he's one to watch closely. Think he could play DE or DT in Aranda's D.

Think he could commit soon?

Guy is a stud. I'd push for him and a buck LB, and not worry if we sign another DB or not.

We offered in January and he hasn’t even visited yet? If he wants to be a Tiger what’s the holdup?

I think Yahmani Adams & Mike DeWitt, are the only players we've gotten from Jones County(I know Adams went to JCJC)

That's awesome. He had named Bama his leader back in May. It would be great to nab this kid from State and Bama.

We need to add another DT/SDE along with Sopsher. We likely lose all 3 starters after next season. I suspect Lawrence, Big Ed and Fehoko (least likely) all declare.

We know Mississippi has a very deep DL crop this year. We have been in the thick of things with Pickering, Moore, and Handy at one point. It would be nice to snag Young.

Do we know when he plans to commit?

Kid is a stud. Probably the only DE we could land in this class. I’d prefer taking him over another DB like Bush, Kimbrough, or Porter.

Wants to be a Tiger? He has an offer, right? Why doesn't he commit?

It's not over yet. We're just in the best place possible. He called the coaches after leaving camp and told them how much he'd like to be Tiger, but still isn't quite ready to shut it down publicly. He's got a long list of high profile suitors, so anything can happen, but like I said in the original post, I like us to land him. Not sure when he's wanting to shut it down, but my guess would be closer to December signing date.

I think he is waiting in Sopsher as well. Many think he is bama bound. If that comes to fruition sooner rather than later then Byron could pull the trigger for the Tigers around the same time.

If what you’re saying is true, that’s a little disappointing. I would hope he would WANT to play with sopsher. I don’t know that they couldn’t both be on the field at the same time.

Young is a SDE...60 lbs lighter and a different position than Sopsher is projected at.

Young would be the replacement for Pickering, or Moore, or Handy.

We need him imo regardless of what Sopsher does. There is no adequate replacement for Sopsher.

You do whatever it takes to sign Sopsher. Whatever it takes.

Yeah Sopsher at the moment is NT some think he is athletic enough (with some s&c at the collegiate level) that he can play SDE or WDE in a 3-4.
