we have jasper next year also, who has punted just fine when asked to
you have to remember, we recruited 2-3 kickers and 2-3 TEs one year. i think the only decent player out of those is jasper

Exactly. Helton has one more year and that will give this guy one year to learn and the next year to compete against whoever else we have that punts.
I heard Saban was on this kid as well. We would be pissed if Miles ignored the kid and let him get on with BAMA.

you say that now. During the year, did you not see how terrible Helton was on the field?
It's not like you grab just anyone and say "hey, go in there!"
The position is important when it comes to field position. I don't see why people have fits over this. If he's that good, he'll be a major upgrade over Helton. Is that not what you guys wanted?
