Many will agree with you. I'm not one of them.
We basically lost the top 2 La recruits this year.
We only got one of them back last minute due to coaching shuffle.
The 2nd was a significant position of need.
I'm not trying to be sarcastic but recruiting now is about who's got the biggest bag. We could probably go get 9 top 10 in Georgia if we could come up with big bucks.

what? We got McKinley. It doesn't matter how we got him. We got him.
Ward is arguably a top 5 player in the state and he was clearly never coming here.

Go check the recruiting lists of all 50 states. There isn’t a major college that dominated its state like LSU did this year. Not even close.
LSU got 9 of the top 10. Even when it was 8 of 10, LSU was still the best.

I wouldn't expect you to based on the above logic. You want it to be a certain way. I believe there may have been a single season where LSU got 10 of the top 12 Louisiana recruits and I am not sure about that. This year we got 11 of the top 12 and 9 of the top 10. I am fairly certain that is unprecedented. But it isn't good enough for you.

Absolutely not true. Mack cut off communication with us in the spring. Not one insider hasn't said this. Not one. If you want to really stretch out and reach its probably true they didnt try to press to get involved later on like when he decommitted from UF. But to say we didn't want him and didn't attempt to press through the summer leading up to the splash is nonsense. Hard to press when the kid won't answer or return phone calls. That has been said by every insider we have. Are they all lying?

As for the op, I'm really impressed with the building of the staff with LA in mind. I'm not an advocate of beholding ourselves to it at the expense of better players but the next 2 classes are pretty loaded, '26 for sure, and we are set up to clean up.

No we didn’t. No recruiting service has Wardell Mack ranked in the top 2 in the state.
