Don’t know anything about Parrish except what I’ve been reading here lately. We drastically needed a QB and if he is the highest rated QB uncommitted out there, I guess he will have to do.
My only concern is that he isn’t another Justin McMillan who will just be a career backup.

Well if you put stock in ratings Parrish is a low 4 star (11th ranked DT). McMillan was a low 3 star (35th ranked DT).

I get your concern, but Parrish has a much more natural throwing motion, greater accuracy, and better escapability. I just see him projecting better as a college QB and the rankings agree.

Try Lamar Jackson if you want to compare Parish to a college Qb.

He was the number 12th rated DT Qb and a 3 Star coming out of High School.

Ensminger has something to work with in the future.

What’s so funny? Parrish plays greater competition and runs a 4.5 40..........and has accuracy. I’d say he fits into our current RPO Offense better than Gunnel.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on Parrish. He's not even in the same league at Gunnel so to go as far as to say Parrish is BETTER?? Don't know how anyone could say that with a straight face after you watch film of both.

I don't put much in to stars ratings or what other analysts rate recruits. I watch film and trust my eyes.

I don't like Parrish, Dreshun Miller, McClendon, or McCallum. None of them are even 2nd team caliber at LSU in my opinion.

I like Flott a lot. And I like Kimbrough a lot.

Agreed. And I haven’t seen video of either to compare, but it sure seems like the QB’s who can run have given Bama more problems than the more prototypical pocket passers.

Bama has not lost to a pro style QB in ages. Unless you consider the 7 passes Lee threw in the 2nd half in 2010 (the 40 yard pass to ice the game being the only one of note), then they haven't lost to a pocket passer since 2010. If you consider starting and finishing, Saban hasn't lost to a pocket passer QB at Bama since 2007 (his first year).

That's why I'm so pumped for Burrow considering he can run and he's accurate.

Well, McMillan was a true project, but I feel like a smaller school would have had him starting by his 3rd year because I think he has some talent, but just hasn't been coached up properly.

Parrish looks better in high school than McMillan did in HS, plus his physical attributes are better (taller, faster, stronger arm). While he isn't as physically gifted as Narcisse was pre injury, I think he has a way better feel for the QB position from a passing standpoint.

I think with 2 years on the bench, if we get the right QB coaching, he'll be like what I see from Burrow (accurate, can run, doesn't look lost on the field), but faster.

A lot of people think Gunnell is overrated. Ohio State never went all in on him despite needing a QB. He didn’t make the elite 11 in a bad class. Plays weak competition and has two really good WRs to throw to.

I would have taken him over Parrish, but Shea has probably seen more of each of them than I have.

This is very interesting

when it comes down to two players and the staff chooses one over the other, I would rather the one the staff likes best

Except it doesn’t work that way. The staff didn’t prefer the Stanford transfer or JuCo DB to Surtain Jr. They took them because they whiffed on PSJ. If there is some high ranked kid they are not recruiting you could say they prefer someone else, even a lower ranked player.
