Saban is an average to above average x and o coach. He was MEDIOCRE in the nfl where you find out how good of a coach you are due to the fact that every team is STACKED with talent. With that being said, he is BY FAR the best college coach ever.

If he wasn't the world-class recruiter that he is (however he accomplishes that, I'm still of the belief he pushes the envelope more than most and is just smart enough to get away with it), his coaching record would be comparable to other very good coaches out there, but I don't think he'd have near as many championships.

Saban is a very good head coach. Checks all the boxes. Very good at Xs and Os. Very good at running a program, planning, and structure. Also very good at recruiting. You add all those things up with what alabama is going to give him in terms of resources and you have what Saban has done for the last decade.

Bama is the IMG of college programs... Kids want to play there with the best so they can look the best for the next level... and the free cars are nice.

Saban is the greatest college football coach of all time, in the midst of the greatest championship run in college football history. He can have whatever players he wants. Players want to win championships, players want to play for a great coach, and Bama puts players in the NFL (because they have the best players). It’s hilarious that people think Bama gets the players they do because they buy them. Hilarious. Bama has a need to buy players less than any other school in college football history.
