Cook and Gaines aren't getting any guarantees to be starters at another power 5 school so why leave?

Pinson isn’t a starter on a good team either

Wtf are we talking about here

Wade must really think cook & Gaines are not good

Would be the 3pt weapon LSU needs badly.

Am I looking at the right player? The one from Illinois who shot 34% on 153 3pt attempts?

Pinson started on a team last year that was in the top 25 the majority of the year and was an ncaa tournament team . What is your qualifications for a good team ?

Didn’t Pinson just start for a tourney team that spent a good bit if not the majority of the season ranked and would have probably finished ranked if their best player didn’t miss time with an injury. He averaged over 13.5 points a game and went for 20 plus 4-5 times. Your obsession with shooting percentages Is weird. That is not the only important metric for a basketball player. Can he be more efficient sure and probably will in a much better offense system. But to try and act like he isn't in a different universe from Gaines or cook at this point in their careers and development is laughable. He is every bit of if not an even better pickup than some of the players we have been jealous seeing go to Arkansas, Bama, and Florida.

Did you watch Illinois this year? If you haven’t seen him play, don’t comment. He would be a great pickup

You’d be shocked at what average players can do with shot opportunities lol

As he should be. Him not getting more PT was unbelievable.

Hearing something similar.

It sounds like he's coming.

Quick - Pat Forde will drop another recycled piece at Yahoo about LSU and the NCAA.

Mac McClung, Adam Miller among top 20 new available NCAA Basketball transfers... LINK A Couple of Days Old

In the 10 or so days since my first transfer update, a number of those “free agents” have recently picked new teams. That includes Lykes and Au’Diese Toney going to Arkansas, center Qudus Wahab picking Maryland, and Justin Powell opting to go to Tennessee. And in the next few days, look for Gardner, Kessler, Xavier Pinson, and a few others to make decisions on new homes as well.

That certainly doesn’t mean that the action in the portal has decreased. In the past couple of weeks, a few hundred more have entered the portal, including several all-conference performers from this past season. Some notable names included Kim Aiken (Eastern Washington), Tyson Jolly (SMU), and Toumani Camara (Georgia), who recently already made some decisions.

But there are still plenty of players who entered the NCAA Basketball transfer portal since April 1st still available for the taking. Rather than re-write a new piece incorporating everyone again, here are the top 20 new names to keep an eye out for.

Players listed are portal entrants from April 1st-12th.

20. G Boogie Ellis – Memphis Tigers
2020-21 stats: 10.2 ppg 39% three-point shooting

19. G Jalen Coleman-Lands – Iowa State Cyclones
2020-21 stats: 14.3 ppg and 3.9 rpg

18. G Rollie Worster – Utah State Aggies
2020-21 stats: 9.1 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.5 apg

17. F D.J. Jeffries – Memphis Tigers
2020-21 stats: 9.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg

16. G Troymain Crosby – Alcorn State Braves
2020-21 stats: 19.1 ppg and 5.4 rpg

15. G Devin Askew – Kentucky Wildcats
2020-21 stats: 6.5 ppg, 2.6 rpg and 2.9 apg

14. F Joel Soriano – Fordham Rams
2020-21 stats: 10.4 ppg and 9.2 rpg

The 6’11 and 250-pound big man broke out as a leading big man in the Atlantic 10, producing eight double-doubles in 14 games played. Soriano’s offense improved as a post scorer as well, going for at least eight points in all but two games.
The junior forward isn’t a shot blocker but is a solid interior defender overall. There aren’t many power conference big men available, which is why the native New Yorker has gotten a fair amount of interest.

13. G Rasir Bolton – Iowa State Cyclones
2020-21 stats: 15.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, and 3.9 apg

12. G Kyler Edwards – Texas Tech Red Raiders
2020-21 stats: 10.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.8 apg

11. F Brady Manek – Oklahoma Sooners
2020-21 stats: 10.8 ppg and 5.0 rpg

10. G Bryce Hamilton – UNLV Rebels
2020-21 stats: 17.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 3.0 apg

9. C Liam Robbins – Minnesota Golden Gophers
2020-21 stats: 11.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 2.7 bpg

One of the top interior defenders in the transfer portal, Robbins is a 7’0 big man who proved he can play at the power conference level. That included a 27-point and 14-rebound effort against Ohio State. His offense became erratic and inconsistent towards the end but he can elevate defenses and be inserted into any starting lineup.
Robbins likely won’t be going back to the mid-major level and there are plenty of teams that could use a 7’0 shot-blocker. He’s from the Iowa area and they just lost their star center in Luka Garza. We’ve seen Big Ten players transfer within the conference before and this would make plenty of sense.

8. G Desi Sills – Arkansas Razorbacks
2020-21 stats: 7.5 ppg and 2.7 rpg

7. G Darryl Morsell – Maryland Terrapins
2020-21 stats: 9.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.8 apg

6. C Garrison Brooks – North Carolina Tar Heels
2020-21 stats: 10.2 ppg and 6.9 rpg

As a junior, Brooks averaged 16.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg as an All-ACC player. This past season, the 6’11 big man saw his numbers and effectiveness decrease, in part due to the amount of frontcourt depth for the Tar Heels.
He may not average 17 and 9 at his next stop but if Brooks can go back to being the focal point of an offense, he can get back to being all-conference caliber next season. Including the first article concerning transfers, there aren’t many big men that can score in the low post like Brooks can, which will make his coveted, even if the junior season was a fluke.

5. G Jalen Pickett – Siena Saints
2020-21 stats: 12.9 ppg, 6.3 rpg, and 4.8 apg

4. F Christian Bishop – Creighton Bluejays
2020-21 stats: 11.0 ppg and 6.4 rpg

As a 6’7 power forward, Bishop is an interesting player as he’ll be much more likely to play center than power forward. The junior has made a grand total of two three-pointers in three seasons and doesn’t stretch the floor. However, Bishop can operate from the perimeter to drive and create mismatches against other centers, while being an underrated rebounder and defender.
Due to his lack of shooting, Bishop will have to fit well as his next stop, mainly playing with a stretch forward or center in the frontcourt. But the consistency factor of Bishop and that he’ll always get you around 9-12 points a game will be very helpful for the program that can land him.

3. G Adam Miller – Illinois Fighting Illini
2020-21 stats: 8.3 ppg and 2.8 rpg

The former top-40 prospect was a surprising addition to the portal, despite starting all of this past season as a freshman for Illinois. Miller had the best of debuts, scoring a season-high 28 points against North Carolina A&T. The 6’3 guard had to play 3rd or 4th fiddle behind star guard Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn so it’s hard to judge Miller just by stats.
But Miller has the raw ability to be a fantastic scorer at the power conference level and wants to be a lead guard. Teams have had plenty of interest and at the right spot can become an all-conference performer.

2. G Matt Bradley – Cal Bears
2020-21 stats: 18.0 ppg and 4.6 rpg

1. G Mac McClung – Texas Tech Red Raiders
2020-21 stats: 15.5 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.1 apg
