He is not. Top 5 in coaching, top 2 or 3 in recruiting. Not second best as a bench coach. Re-watch LSU vs UGA 2018, NC game 2017, SEC CG 2018 and this past Sugar Bowl vs. TX. And top that off with Nicholls State and UF his first year.

Besides Saban who is better?

There are several new coaches who could be as good or better. It's too early to say. Kirby seems to be mostly benefiting from the talent he has recruited to this point and has failed to shine in some of his bigger games.

Remains to be seen but I heard the coach at Louisiana State University beat the shite out of Kirby this past season. He is also rumored to be a decent recruiter. Who knows?

Video: Georgia’s failed fake field goal against LSU went about as poorly as possible

Dawg nation - Georgia fake FG attempt confuses everybody except LSU

Kirby can recruit his arse off though.

I'd say Mullen has been able to do more with less.

I feel good about this RB and I also believe that LSU will go all out for that dominant LT we’ve needed for over a decade now. I think LSU can start to convince these guys that if they just look at the roster and what it’s been missing then compare to when LSU has had these players what the outcomes are then it will be obvious where they should be playing. We haven’t had a real dominant OT position player in quite some time. The interior is fine.

The depth is now much better but we need those two dominant OTs on the left and the right to take the reigns back. It’s very possible and that close imo. They are the difference in competing with Bama every year and not. LSU will play bama much tougher this year then they have in quite some time as well. Possibly even beat them if we can catch them off guard. We have the offensive fire power to do it and the young coach to drop his sack on Saban’s forehead. Let’s do it.

It’s time that we know we will beat bama and stop going into the game mentally defeated. It’s time to just go own the field and dominate that red team. LSU should paint every team on the score board red and dominate the red team. That way every team is the red team who we will truly destroy.

Kirby is definitely better than Mullen...he’s made 2 SEC championships and won one and won a playoff game

After Saban, they all have flaws. Kirby makes really boneheaded decisions in game. Mullen isn't the greatest recruiter. Orgeron's a little too conservative and probably doesn't bring a lot to the game planning. Fisher has been pretty average except for the year he had EJ Manual as a senior and then the 2 seasons with Winston.

Regardless, that's your second tier group and I'm not sure you can say any one of them is clearly better than the others.

Saban also makes mistakes. Fake FG comes to mind.
He’s basically playing with an all star team every year. That erases many mistakes.
Dabo proved he’s a better coach by beating Bama soundly with less talented players.

Kirby recruits better than Mullen but he is not a better actual coach.

You’re aware that recruiting is a part of coaching, right?

No recruiting is recruiting, coaching is coaching. They both fall under the role of the Head Coach, but they’re definitely not the same.

Your version was incomplete. I thought I'd add another factor to Saban's success in there as well.

Milton is like 220lbs if I'm not mistaken. Milton is more of a power guy while Emery has quick burst/acceleration to go with blazing long speed (4.42 forty, ~38in. vert, 4.20 shuttle).

Same here. Thought my phone was messing up so popped out the Kindle and same result. Even got off of Wi-Fi and went to cellular. Stuff happens sometimes.
