Looks like this is our Sayin replacement. Pretty far out class of ‘25 but has the upside to be the #1 overall player in the class.

Ah. Forgive me for tepid excitement at this point. That's a lifetime in the NIL recruiting era.

Hard to get remotely excited about this when the kid is 2.5 years away from even being able to sign.

So are we just skipping 24? We will have Daniel’s-nuss-Howard-Collins

Someone will pop up and commit in 2024, or they take a transfer eventually.

However barring transfers of your own, having Howard and Collins gives you QBs for awhile.

Signing day for 2024 is still over a year away. Lots of things can happen between now and then.

Also, they can add a portal guy if needed.

Transfer portal is the new way to develop & win right away. I honestly don’t care about any HS Qab recruit anymore.

Just a rumor but he could commit and then reclassify up to ‘24

A trio of Hurley, Harlem Berry, and Jacorey Watson in the 2025 class would be amazing.

Hopefully he will grow a couple of inches taller.

NO, the coaches are still recruiting QB's and will reach out to other prospects on their list. Just because Sayin is likely going to commit to ALA doesn't mean the coaches will stop recruiting for 2024. LSU will still show interest in DJ Lagway who was offered over a year ago (A&M lean). Coaches may reach out to Elijah Brown who also holds a 2024 offer from ALA. Brown may express an interest in visiting other programs. If so, get him on campus with his parents. 2024 kids are over a year away from signing and change their minds all the time. LSU will be fine as the most important thing is to keep winning and developing talent.

Exactly. Your HS QB recruits battle with a
Red shirt sophomore/junior transfer for the starting job.

The best plays, the second best transfers, and the third best becomes the backup with your newest recruit redshirting and the cycle will continue indefinitely. Can’t get too attached to your “home grown” QBs anymore

Look at what happened to LSUs room of Brennan, Finley and Johnson and then Brennan, Johnson, Nussmeier … now Daniels, Nussmeier, Howard.

You saw the cycle in the SEC, Finley to Auburn, Nix to Oregon, Johnson to A&M, Calzada to Auburn and so on

I'd assume a high school sophomore will grow a little bit more. He's only 14 or 15 years old.

I've also seen his height listed anywhere from 6'0" to 6'2", so take the 247 height with a grain of salt. On3 has him at 6'0.5". Rivals has him at 6'2" and that's also what he has on his twitter bio.

Here's a pretty good write up on him from April.

This is an upgrade, not a replacement.

Still over a year out from signing. I'm sure someone will pop up on the radar between now and summer. With that said, going after a local guy as a developmental player wouldn't be the worst thing in the world considering what the QB room looks like right now.

which would sorta justify Fong making a prediction on a guy so far out.

Shea is kinda dropping hints on something too on On3 about a QB development that would subside the Sayin news.

Shea confirmed they were working another 24 guy that would make everyone happy. Makes me wonder if they already know that he’s reclassifying.

Telling you the name to remember here is Mabrey Mettauer from The Woodlands, TX. They played Willis HS, DJ Lagway’s team, this past Friday night and handled pretty easily. The Woodlands has better overall talent but seems like I remember someone posting his family has connections to LSU. He does wear a lot of LSU clothing.
