Joe Burrow and Danny Etling weren’t portal transfers.

Etling was mediocre at best and not to be mentioned with the other great QBs.

Evangel is really outmatched physically most games but he takes snaps 10 to 12 yards behind the line of scrimmage and still does a two step drop. Alot of his throws are unnecessarily long. A 10 yard out on paper is really a 30 yard pass in the air the way they run that offense. It leads to some interceptions. But two of them last night I saw were just bad decisions, and great plays by a really good DB. I didn't see the third.

Film Guy Network said Pops was some of the best film he's ever seen. Pop is really really good, but hey, we are LSU and we will be great at QB no matter. (At least those are the expectations.)

Hell, Sam Leavitt threw 3 picks in the first half against tech tonight. It happens.

The dude played in a national all star game as a JR and was the best QB by far. I guess at 17 you have to be a finished product

In this day and age most teams like lsu will always see what’s in the portal

This. I would spend my money on proven talent in the portal rather than spend millions on a HS QB like Haven.

I’ve watched him several times last year against highly rated 4A and 5A teams and he was a one man show keeping them in the games until the very end. Made multiple eye popping throws in each game where he fit it into tiny windows downfield usually on the run. Dude looked crazy accurate when I watched.

QBs are eventually going to figure out that it's more important/valuable to go somewhere they can play.

I'm not getting the pop hate.

He is an extremely hard worker. I wouldn't bet against him. Very accurate qb.

This is Arch Manning at Newman all over again.

Not even close. Houston looks better than Manning at this point in their careers. I'll concede Manning was better than his team but Houston is showing you more than Arch did.

I'm still not convinced Houston is the QB of the future but Manning wasn't as good of a HS player.
