2027 class ( lots of out of state commits)

Didn’t we see the last staff put more emphasis on out of state players than we historically have? Maybe this is a down year in Louisiana, but I just know that LSU football is at its best when it leans on Louisiana kids. So just wondering what everyone else thinks.

All of the elite programs recruit nationally. We are still signing a lot of instate talent. Besides Simien, who the staff doesn’t think is worth the price A&M is offering, I am not sure who you think we should take that we’re passing on. Haven never wanted to be at LSU, and the staff passed on Whitley.

9 players in the on3 top 250 from Louisiana
Five of those players are committed or leading for OOS schools.

It’s really not as bad as you frame it
- LSU chose Houston over Haven
- they are doing everything they can to flip Royal
- A&M is paying high school prospects more than anyone in the country and LSU is still in it for Simien
The rest don’t have commit on the spot offers

IDK what you want my man. LSU has IMO, the best QB in the state, the best RB in the state, and is still pushing for the best OL and WR in the state. They have one of, if not the best TE in the country from the state, Anding's lil bro is a safety that is considered the 2nd best safety in the state, and i personally think we have the best corner in the state.
LSU can end up with 7 of the top 12 on 247 and Rivals composite and possibly 8 of the top 12 on the composite if we can convince Simien to stay home (i am 100% convinced Royal will flip to LSU). Once you remove the redundancy of 3 QBs being in the top 12, LSU could legit finish with 7 of the top 10 which is about on par with what we always do in Louisiana, and again with Simien, 8 of the top 10.
Also, Lane is not going to load up on high school guys. He's likely taking about 20 guys from high school. We may pick up 4-5 more guys in state. So 9-10 in state and 10-11 out of state.
