So I think we all agree that we need DL badly.

Taking a look at the ATM and UT commits and their 3 DL from LA committed.

Until Kelly gets a DL coach that is elite we will continue bleeding our homegrown DL talent.

Way to point out the obvious. Should just hire a new DL coach at this point.

I am with you. We could easily get A&M's in my opinion as it is obvious Jimbo's time is limited.

No problem....Kelly won’t get in a bidding war so he will get more plug in’s from Southeastern....Nichols.....or ULL!

I'm expecting 2 more tranfer portal DL at minimum.

If we don’t land any other high school guys, we’ll likely have to take 3 or 4 transfers. We know Maason Smith, Jordan Jefferson, and Mekhi Wingo will all be gone. The guys behind them don’t exactly inspire much confidence.

The number of threads that say the same thing in different ways is pretty impressive.

it's hilarious how some of you just wear blinders for all positive news and actually try to just absorb the bad. Lsu's portal class last year was #2 and #3 the year before.

Some guys we got obviously aren't going to cut it in the SEC, but we need bodies. Period. Mingo came from the portal. Harris came from the portal. Yet people on here choose to continue to run this narrative our portal and recruiting classes are the worst and we get no high end talent. It's laughable.

Lastly, there's only so much nil to go around. If you have to rebuild an entire roster, essentially from scratch, you gotta pick and choose where to drop the big bucks (HS recruits, transfers, depth chart, etc all play a factor in this). Once we actually get depth and experience in place it will be easier to bid on higher end talent in the portal. This isn't a team built with guys from Southeastern. It's a talented team very thin with regards to depth, especially at certain positions.

Its time to get Jason Taylor to come join LSU/Mason as that would be a big splash hire and resonate with young DL to come to LSU and play for a legend.

We pay our current coach to go home and recover.

We still have to worry about NIL, but Taylor would be a great hire and create some buzz where Jason as DL coach and a decent NIL deal would be better than no DL coach and huge NIL bidding wars.

Was there ever any public info released on what his issue is? Seems serious, but an updated timeline for him to be back in action, if ever, certainly would help our recruiting at that position.

I don’t understand how people on this board don’t understand that it’s mainly about money. I think most kids would like to play for their home state team but they also realize that only a select few make it to the pros so take the money now.

You should let Missouri and Arizona know, both somehow got top 10 players on the DL committed. How did Texas allow this?

I mean, Mizzou got an in state DL committed because the new law here allows him to start getting paid as soon as he signs his LOI. I'd say Mizzou knows it's all about NIL.
