I don’t know what it’s called all I know is that it came from France, it was my mother’s and we’re trying to sell some of her things. Other family members estimated worth between 2-3k but I don’t know where to begin.

All jokes aside, request Antique on the OT and you'll probably get some better help.

There's an antique store in the Birmingham area, gotta be similar ones elsewhere, that sells antiques on a consignment type basis.

Some 80 Grit Sandpaper will clean that up with quickness.

FB Marketplace is a good place. Or sell it to your family member who thinks it's worth $3,000 for half price. I suspect he will change his mind on value.

That's awesome and like the poster above said it was a workbench that had the legs cut off. I would keep it if possible, even if just temporarily while you do more research to get a much better price for it.

Similar that sold for almost 5k

Another around 1500

Do as much research as you can, but value will vary online
Don’t just give it away, there are things of my grandparents that no one wanted but had a little value (not like this) that we kept instead of just getting rid of it cheap

Friend,

That piece is absolutely beautiful. If my room had space for it I would offer you 4,000 for it, but alas, we have too much furniture already. You could bring pictures of it to an auction house to get an appraisal. My favorite in Louisiana is New Orleans Auction Galleries.

Put it on FB marketplace and state that it came from France. The Frenchies down yonder will eat that up.

I'd also state you had it appraised at 3K, but will let it go for $2500. After all, the value is ultimately decided on by the buyer and how much they love it/have to have it.

In all seriousness, that is a really cool looking piece, and I'm just a knuckle dragger.

ETA: I'd like to sumbit an offer for $3.50.
