Seems like the soil temperature is getting in the 70's. I got spectacle flo that I bought last year and it seemed to work great. I don't remember exactly when I used it though. What do you use and when?

I'm waiting to lay down granular if we EVER get some forecasted rain.
CenLA soil temp for past 24 hours is 67 degrees. I missed the prime temp target because no rain. Maybe it will warm up a little again.

Put down hi yield dimension today. No rain in sight. Watered all day.

I’m looking to do this as well.
My yard is less than 6 months old as it’s a new build. Should I wait before spraying? I was told it could damage the yard since it’s still so new.

5 day avg soil temp just hit 70. I’m a little behind this year but will be applying today.

My yard is being done today up here in NW Arkansas.

Yes just punt on preemergent this falls. Don't risk it. Ever herbicides that are labelled safe for turfgrasses still have a slight effect on their growth. They don't kill it, they just stunt it for a while. If you ever hear anyone say it "dinged" by yard, that is what they mean.

Because it's slow today at work, I looked at the rainfall from the two closest Wunderground weather stations nearest my house. 2024, 2025, 2026. January - October and averaged the two stations out as they are amateur and not always spot on accurate. (Plus differences of location)
What a dry arse year it's been.

How long do you wait between applications? I just put some down last weekend, and was planning to wait until after thanskgiving right before I put up Christmas decorations

The 5-day average soil temp for Baton Rouge is 74.5. Seems I need to get after it.

Will there be pine losses like the last time this happened?
Posted on 10/21/26 at 10:23 am to AlxTgr
I lost one of my 4 little Thunderhead Japanese black pines. It was under a year old, the others I managed to water enough. Once I saw some needles browning, it was too late.
