Recently remodeled an older home. I believe they had problems with them in the past. I haven’t seen one here until there other night I saw one in the kitchen. I have some bifen that I spray in the yard and it says it works inside too. I thought about using that unless there’s something better I should use.

I use DemonMax, kills pretty much all pest species. Between that, Taurus SC, and triazicide I don't see many bugs around my house.

Bifen works pretty well. Demon WP seems to be a little stronger but leaves a white residue.

The best thing I have ever seen is Bengal roach spray. Spray that and every insect will stagger out from hiding and die before your eyes.

For something cheaper, I like Ortho Home Defense….which has an active ingredient of Bifenthrin.

I've always had success with ortho home defense max. I spray the inside and out once or twice a year and it takes care of any roaches. If I do happen to run across one, it's on its back already dead

If you have a company like Pest Stop nearby, the stuff they sell works great. Or, you can source exterminator grade pesticide online and DIY

As stated by others, bifen or Bengal Gold works.

Bengal Gold is the bizness. Worth getting over the regular. It doesn't just spot kill, but kills them if they ever go to that spot.

The white residue will last longer indoors. Aroound 90 days. It will kill roaches, spiders, and all other creepy crawlies. Its great stuff.

I use this before sealing up walls or in places I don't want chemical sprayed. Dollar stores around me always have it a good price.

When I bought my current house 30+ years ago it had sat vacant for months and had a pretty nasty roach infestation going on once we moved in and started doing renovations. There were those small "German Cockroaches" that infested the kitchen area and the larger cockroaches that are common in N.O. everywhere else.

I went to Barber Laboratories and talked to the owner and was given a liquid concentrate to pump spray, some boric acid with the applicator and a tube of a jell like substance to use in the kitchen cabinets.

I followed the guys advice and it was amazing how quickly the roaches disappeared and are STILL gone to this day. I may get 3-4 large cockroaches a year that travel in from outside, usually in the winter months.

The applicator for the boric acid allowed me to remove the light switch and outlet covers and spray the boric acid in that area and the jell substance was to be used inside the cabinets by applying a line about 3 inches long where the face frame met the cabinet dividing walls. It could not be seen unless you stuck your head inside the cabinet.

The effect was immediate and for the following week we were sweeping and wiping up dead roaches daily.

I wish I could remember the name of the concentrate and the jell, but that was a single event over 30 years ago. I just remember how well it worked. Hell, it may have had a chemical compound that is now banned for all I know.

Gumbo 2176 gave you good response.

Basically you have two problems. One - an infestation in your wall voids and two transient roaches from outside. Bengal is a good knockdown for the inhouse part. You can drill a small hole in the baseboard for fast results or just blow at floor level under quarter round trim. Then dust liberally with boric acid or diatomaceous earth to keep new arrivals down.. Both these dusting need dry conditions.

D-fence SC. I have had the same pint for years. Haven’t seen a roach in years. It contains Deltamethrine
