Washing Machine Recommendations

~12 year old Maytag transmission is leaking oil. Time to replace and we’re considering Speed Queen TV2000WN - it’s deemed to be a “commercial” model - top load, simple mechanical knobs, agitator, etc. Premium price….is it worth it? If not, what’s the recommendation?

Speed Queen. You'll pay more up front, but you'll save money in the long run.

As mentioned several times. Speed Queen is pricey but the best on the market.
Model? Just do a little looking at specs/features and choose the one that has what you want or need.

Do NOT get a complex one with lots of bells and whistles. The more technology, the more problems.

Look for a mint or great shape direct drive whirlpool from the early oughts.
Speed Queen basically copied that design. Napoleon will be along shortly and can probably steer you in the right direction.
I found a Sears series 90 King (largest capacity) from like 2005 that had been restored and I love it.
For capacity it's:
- king
- super capacity plus
- super capacity
I think that's largest to smallest tub size but might be different depending on the brand. They're all whirlpool though.
Getting much harder to find them for a good price because everyone knows what a beast those whirlpools are.

We recently replaced our Maytag washer and dryer. Both bit the dust after many repairs. Bought Speed Queen from Stanton’s in BR. Happy so far.

I buy the plainest and cheapest washer and dryer i can find.

They make great products. As for Stanton’s , ask for Kathy.

One more SQ recommendation.
The only thing still made like they used to be.
Pay $300-400 more now, and you will save 3 times that over the next 15-20 years from not having to replace shitty washing machines every 5 years...
or less.

Never owned a speed queen but if price is not an issue , your best bet is a Miel . We have had one for about 10 years and it is without a doubt the best washer made. Made like a tank, German engineered and heavy as hell. Fastist spin out there and makes drying quick !

I have a 2005 washer and dryer set, still going strong. The washer has some serious cast iron in it, my fiancée complains how noisy it is but I told this thing will keep working long after her Samsung POS gives up. I was right.

Is Speed Queen also the recommendation for a dryer?

Thanks All - Speed Queen it is.
