I am having to get a new AC. Would you go with a company using Carrier or Trane if the price was the exact same.

thanks!

Definitely a Trane.. I replaced mine last year after 28 years of service.

The installer is more important than the brand. Disregard if either are coming from the same outfit.

My Trane went out last year after 20 years. The company replacing it told me they had another brand, made by Trane in the same factory. They said all components, and the box, were the same. They said the only difference was that the wiring went in the other side of the box. It was $5300, installed, for the outside and inside units. The Thermostat it came with says Trane.

Been 20 years since I was in the hvac business. But, get Trane. Better quality.

No idea if one is truly better than another

But per a realtor friend - "I know it sounds dumb but people really do notice and Trane is perceived as reliable/heavy duty"

if they are from different contractors go with the contractor that will stand behind their work and put quality above price.
