I’m looking for a small zero turn to mow a 1/2 acre of grass. Need to be able to get through a small gate so I’m looking for one in the 36” range (residential …..not looking to spend up on a gravely or a scag or something similar.) So far all I’ve found is an ariens and a snapper.

Anyone know of any other brands that make a small zero turn?

I've been looking around for the same thing. Hustler has a 34" for around $3500.

I'm also considering a 30" wide push mower, but the reviews for the toro time master are hit or miss and the only other competitors are commercial models that are $2500+. I'd like to get a snapper rear engine like the other poster said, but they dont make them anymore. Trying to find one used on FB marketplace

Yeah. I’d like to find a nice used 33in snapper rear engine but they are hard to come by. This is our business and it needs to be quick and dirty that’s why I’m looking for a rider.

And unless you go down to 30in like the cub cadet all the lawn tractors now are 42.

I picked up the Hustler Dash XD 42" 2 years ago, and have enjoyed it. Purchased from Gautreaux's on Airline in Baton Rouge. Our yard is not very big, but right on the line for too much to push and too small for a rider. Takes me maybe 20 minutes by the time it is said and done.

Toro makes one as well.

Scag used to have a liberty z 34, but I’m not sure it’s made anymore.

yeah i have the 30" cub cadet. works fine for my ~.5acre yard. kind of a convoluted set up but whole thing can be mowed in about 30min. its been very reliable for me so far.

I bought mine last year. My hustler has a Kawasaki. I forgot they switched.

34” Gravely with Kawasaki

Also agree with other posters about a snapper. I had one before at my old house (.5 acres). I bought it off Craigslist for $400 it was in great shape. Easy to work on. I just didn’t want to push and wanted to be able to go thru gates. It was perfect. $3000-$4000 for a zero turn for what you have seems like overkill. But if you got the funds then go for it.

I’ll probably get downvoted, but when I have to replace my current mower, Dixon 42” ztr, I’m probably going with a battery powered Roybi.

I bought a toro timemaster two years ago. No complaints. It just my now time by 20 minutes.
It’s heavy for a push mower so don’t cut the same pattern everytime, especially when the ground is soft.

I gave you an upvote. I was on an EGO ZTR and loved it. 10 gauge steel deck. Equivalent to 25HP power source. No maintenance. No gas. What's not to love? Certainly, the Ryobi is on par with that.

I’ve opened up to look for these instead and found a 1433 in great shape. Guy is asking $750. Gonna go look at it tomorrow.

Cub Cadet had a 36" zero turn.
It had niche following just was not a huge seller.

Hustler still sells ones and Gravely.

In that size most of them will work fine.
Not going to finish the race fast, but in a timely manner.
