Winter is a good time to have your lawn soil tested if you’ve never done so. LINK. You should not lime a lawn without results of a soil test analysis to tell you whether it’s required, or not, for the lawn grass you are growing, and if required the test will tell you what type of lime to use and how much.

Treat/control/spray weeds when present in the lawn - if you have winter weeds now, then spray them.

Just turned off my sprinkler schedule. Lawn was starting to stay wet.

That's all I got.

What can I put on my lawn right now for the weeds popping up? I put down pre-emergant in early October. Winter weed cocktail? I dont think I can use celcius or the other one that's name escapes me right now right? I noticed some of the lettuce looking stuff popping up this past weekend.

When spurweed is a problem in your lawn, fall is the best time to utilize pre-emergent herbicides such as atrazine or simazine to prevent seeds from germinating in turfgrass lawns including Bermuda, St. Augustine and Centipede.

If you miss your opportunity to treat your lawn this fall, the next best time to treat is in the winter and early spring from December to early March. Spray with a post-emergent herbicide with 2,4-D, dicamba and mecoprop as active ingredients. You must kill the weeds before they set seeds — the painful part of the plant.

I beg to differ. I've done this for years and had a green lawn in the winter with no weeds in the spring.

You also live in a cool season area if you are in Louisville, not to mention weed and feed products are terrible.

Most of us are warm season

To the OP if you do anything it would be putting down some soil amendments with bio char and maybe applying some potassium.

You can beg to differ all you’d like. Weed and feed is never the best option for a lawn. You also suggested feeding a southern lawn in the winter which is never a good thing. Most weed and feed folks don’t understand lawn types and often make mistakes when making recommendations. If you have a green lawn during the winter and it’s not all weeds then you have a cool season grass and shouldn’t suggest feeding a warm season zoysia grass in Florida.

I’m not going to say weed & feed doesn’t “work”. My neighbor uses it because he doesn’t know any better, but my yard is obviously more healthy than his.

Scott’s and other brands/companies know weed & feed is not good, but there’s such a big market for it that they have to make & sell it from a profitability standpoint. That’s the only reason it’s even made.

I like to go outside and drink a beer and look at the only green well manicured lawn in the neighborhood.

What can I expect to happen in my lawn if I threw out weed and feed just the other day? I started with centipede, but Bermuda is quickly taking over. I only did it in backyard cause I had some patches of clover and some other broad leaf weeds
