Refrigerator/appliance brands to avoid

Going to try and take advantage of BF deals on a fridge. I’m terrified of buying a lemon brand and reviews seem subjective when it comes to appliances. Any brands that have a bad rap I need to steer clear of?

We have Bosch appliances in our new build. Not a fan. Ice dispenser in the fridge is already broken (2 months of use) and the Dishwasher feels half the size of our old kitchen aid.

Getting to the point, GE and Kenmore are two brands I trust that you can find/aren’t back ordered for months.

If they make a good TV, don't buy their appliances.

Samsung ref/freezer.....beware of the ice maker!
I have one, and it is a major pain in the arse.
Class action lawsuit pending.

Never buy a Samsung fridge.
All other large appliances are fine.

Had one for a year..at least for me the condensation ice maker problem had been solved.
Samsung glass top stove was a pos though.
TBH seems like every brand is hit or miss and half the life of older stuff.

Isn't the ice maker the #1 part of a fridge that fails on every brand?

Samsuck. Run away as fast as you can. Pretty refrigerator and nice features, shite construction, and don’t even think you’ll be able to get a working icemaker.

LG and samsung
Ok? I have Samsung everything in my newly renovated kitchen and a top of the line LG washer and dryer. They are awesome! Before the kitchen renovation I had a Samsung fridge for a decade...no issues

I bought a Whirlpool side-by-side when I built my house - that was 21 years ago - and it still functions perfectly. I've done zero repairs on it.

Kenmore can be other private labels, such as LG. Avoid LG and other Korean manufactured appliances

No brands are built like the old days where you could get 20 yrs or more out of a fridge. If you do then consider yourself lucky.
As others have said, it's hit or miss. However, Samsung and LG standout as the brands to avoid.
They look great in stores, but fail at higher rates. I couldn't even get a repairman to look at my LG fridge. They didn't even ask the model number. When I mentioned the brand, they did not want to touch it. Warranty work was futile. And it's not just icemaker issues. Compressor failures are common and that's kind of important.
